They swung a trade with the Colorado Rockies for left-handed pitcher Ryan Rolison.
In return to the Rockies goes cash considerations, in a move that was announced by both teams.
Colorado had designated Rolison for assignment a day earlier to remove him from their 40-man roster, and the Braves are taking a chance on him.

Hall of Fame Alabama high school football coach steps down

Theodore (Ala.) was just a touchdown and change away from reaching the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s (AHSAA) Class 6A third round of the postseason in a 21-14 loss to Benjamin Russell last week.
Now, the Bobcats will be in search of who their next head coach will be after Wednesday’s news.
According to BamaPreps, AHSAA Hall of Fame coach Steve Mask told his football team he would be stepping down after three seasons at the helm. A news conference is scheduled for Thursday morning regarding Mask’s future plans.
