It’s been a rocky start to the 2025 season for Jacksonville Jaguars’ second-year wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.
In the season opener against Carolina, Thomas was targeted seven times but had just one reception for 11 yards. Pro Football Focus also credited him with a drop and going 0-for-2 in contested catch situations.

Let’s take a snapshot of the week that was, with three teams trending up after this weekend, and three teams headed in the wrong direction.
Down: Clemson
Last week, Clemson fell down 16-0 early to Troy before rattling off 27 unanswered points en route to a 27-16 victory. The 16-point comeback was the third-largest home comeback in program history, a fact Dabo Swinney noted in his post-game comments.
“There’s a reason there are only three,” Swinney said after the win over Troy.

If there’s one prevailing storyline early in this NFL season it’s that rumors of the Bears’ return were greatly exaggerated. If a narrow loss to the Vikings on Monday Night Football wasn’t enough to break fans in Chicago, what happened in Week 2 certainly was. A game that was supposed to signify turning the page and getting back on track quickly gave way to one of the most abysmal performances of this young season, with the Lions blowing the doors off the Bears en route to a 52-21 win.
