SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Jackson Merrill had three hits and drove in two runs, Xander Bogaerts homered and the San Diego Padres tied their season highs for hits with 14 and runs in a 10-5 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night.
Sung-Mun Song had a two-run double — his first MLB hit — with two outs in the fourth, advanced to third on a throwing error and scored on Merrill’s single to cap San Diego’s five-run inning and make it 6-4. Song, a 29-year-old South Korean infielder who signed with the Padres in December, was 2 for 4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

The Houston Astros are going to be without shortstop Carlos Correa for the foreseeable future. 
Correa was a late scratch from the team’s 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night after he went down with an ankle injury during pregame warmups. Correa, according to MLB.com’s Brian McTaggart, injured his ankle while taking swings in a batting cage. 
Correa is set to meet with a foot specialist on Wednesday morning. While specifics of his injury are not yet known, the expectation is that he will be out indefinitely and could miss “weeks, or maybe even months.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Mike Trout, Jorge Soler and Zach Neto hit home runs, Ryan Zeferzahn worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth inning and the Los Angeles Angels held on for a 4-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night.
Zeferjahn hit a batter and walked two in the ninth before retiring Edgar Quero on a groundout for his first save this season and his third in 10 career opportunities. The right-hander struck out rookie home run leader Munetaka Murakami — tied with the Yankees’ Aaron Judge at 14 — with a runner on first to get the final out in the eighth.

Hagerstown 12, Long Island 11
The Boxcars (9-4) opened a six-game series against the Ducks (7-6) at Meritus Park by rallying from an early seven-run deficit with four runs in the third inning and five runs in the fifth, then held on late to extend their North Division lead to two games.
Marty Costes hit a two-run triple in the third and an RBI double in the fifth for Hagerstown. He also walked twice and scored three runs.
