Much of the discussion in the fallout from the 2025 World Series has been that the Los Angeles Dodgers “bought” their way to a championship.

The junior guard poured in 44 points in Notre Dame’s 85-58 home win over Akron, resetting the Irish’s single-game scoring record. It was previously jointly held by Jewell Loyd and Ruth Riley at 41 points.

Cade Klubnik has delivered his best stretch of football just as Clemson’s season winds down, offering a bright spot in a year that strayed far from the hopes surrounding it back in August. LAS VEGAS — Garrett Crochet’s first season with the Red Sox was a smashing success as the lefty led all of baseball in strikeouts and led the American League in innings pitched.
It was not, however, quite enough to carry him to the Cy Young Award. That honor went to another lefty, Tarik Skubal of the Detroit Tigers, who captured the trophy for the second straight season.

Skubal became the first American League pitcher to win the award two years in a row since Pedro Martinez pulled off the feat in 1999 and 2000. He garnered 26 of 30 first-place votes to four for Crochet.
