The Washington Commanders offense came back to life in their 41-24 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Washington’s start to the game began with a 69-yard kickoff return from Deebo Samuel. The Commanders scored on four of their first six possessions of the game, but the two non-scoring drives ended with a missed 37-yard field goal and a Marcus Mariota fumble at the Raiders’ 27-yard line. Washington potentially could have scored on every drive in the first half otherwise.

After Rhamondre Stevenson fumbled two times in the New England Patriots 21-14 defeat on Sunday, head coach Mike Vrabel backed his lead back: “We need him.”
Hearing that message, Stevenson knew that came with one major qualifier.
“If I can’t hold onto the ball, they don’t need me,” Stevenson said.
Stevenson, who fumbled a league-high seven times last season, lost his first on New England’s opening drive of the game as he was stripped by linebacker Cole Holcomb.

Jim Wyatt is one of the good guys in journalism. He’s covered the Tennessee Titans since 1999, was the Tennessee sportswriter of the year six times, and joined the Titans to cover the club for its website in 2015.
And, for the uninitiated, guys that work for team websites are not in the business of criticizing the team because that criticism appears on the team’s own website. It’s like going to your boss’s house and scrawling disparaging things on their house.

Our expectations were low, but my God. The Bengals gave us a legendarily ugly performance against the Vikings in the Browning-Wentz Bowl on Sunday. It was so putrid that before the fourth quarter Tony Romo grimly told his audience “this could get worse.”
Thankfully it didn’t or the FCC would have gotten complaints for CBS airing cruel and unusual punishment on live TV. When the final whistle blew the score was 48-10, and the perfect distillation of everything wrong with the Bengals. If Joe Burrow isn’t on the field, nothing else matters.

Essex captain Tom Westley has signed a two-year contract extension to keep him with the club until the end of the 2027 season.

Brian Daboll was in no mood to discuss a potential change at starting quarterback, but his New York Giants’ 22-9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night might just have been the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back.
It wasn’t so much the fact that the Giants were beaten in uninspiring fashion to drop to 0-3 on the season. Nor was it necessarily Russell Wilson going only 18-of-3 for 160 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions.
Instead, it was rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart entering the field for three snaps.
Granted, Dart did not do much on those three snaps.

Newcastle Red Bulls have signed Wales full-back Liam Williams on a one-year contract.
The 34-year-old had been without a club since leaving Saracens at the end of last season, and had a spell training with his former club Cardiff.
He has not played since suffering a knee injury in Wales’ defeat by France in their Six Nations opener in January.
“It’s a good opportunity to experience something new, and I can’t wait to get started,” he told the club website.
