Former NBA all-star Gilbert Arenas discussed LeBron James and his high level of play on his Gil’s Arena show, and brought up an interesting point about the Lakers star’s longevity that is not often considered.
Could James’s high level of play, that is unprecedented in his late 30s, be putting pressure on players across the league?
“It just puts so much pressure on people,” Arenas said. “The fact that he’s 39, doing what he’s doing, makes 30 seem like you’re a rookie.

Commanders coach Ron Rivera revisited his Tuesday comments on Wednesday morning when discussing complaints from players regarding new offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.

Give Julio Rodriguez an Oscar for his coy reaction to robbing a home run against the Padres.
One of the coolest things to do in a baseball game is robbing a surefire home run. The batter thinking that they can do the homer trot only for a centerfielder who was blessed by God with insane athleticism to jump up and snag the ball out of the air as you think you have a no doubt homer. It’s one of the biggest reversals of fortune in sports, which makes it hilarious.

O’Neal is one of the greatest big men to ever play the game, thanks to a dominant stretch as Kobe Bryant’s running mate. The 15-time all-star and first-ballot Hall of Famer averaged 23.7 points and 10.9 rebounds over his 19-year career.

Who is Scoot Henderson?
Exactly.
You might not know the name unless you follow basketball rather closely, but Henderson is guaranteeing that you will know his name sooner than later. He did so by promising that he will win the NBA’s Rookie of the Year award.
Perhaps the 19-year-old hasn’t learned that the thing with guarantees is, people will definitely know your name – for better or worse, and usually it’s because the guarantee comes up short.

The unofficial start of fantasy football season kicked off Tuesday night with the debut of this season’s Hard Knocks on HBO. After all, what better way for fantasy managers to start scouting than from their sofas with the dulcet tones of Liev Schreiber weaving the narrative?
Last year, we fell in love with Dan Campbell and his Lions. Those who saw something special in Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jamaal Williams got some of the best draft day bargains of the season.
This year it’s Robert Saleh and his Jets. And yes, I am in love.

Diving into the final eight teams at the Women’s World Cup
And then there were eight.
The 2023 Women’s World Cup has moved on to the quarter-finals, and with the United States eliminated, we will not see a repeat winner this year.
