Twins outfielder Joey Gallo is one of the most confounding players in baseball, and he made one of the most confounding plays of the season on Sunday. 
Gallo is having a very weird season. He has a slash line of .179/.298/.459, with 17 home runs and 105 strikeouts in 255 plate appearances. His strikeout rate of 41.2% is the highest among players with at least 150 plate appearances. But by OPS+ and wRC+, he’s actually an above-average hitter. 
What those numbers illustrate is clear: Gallo’s strength is his power. More than half of his hits this season are home runs.

Watson’s latest comments show that he’s learned nothing.
Deshaun Watson doesn’t get it, and he has absolutely no desire of getting it. That’s the takeaway from the quarterback’s first interview upon arriving at Browns training camp. A remorseless Watson stood in front of reporters on Sunday calling the allegations of at least 25 women for sexual misconduct, which he settled in civil court, a construct of the media who directed a “narrative” against him.
This wasn’t a case of misconstruing Watson’s words, or taking something out of context.

The Buffalo Bills will be without Nyheim Hines this season following a freak accident
On the cusp of training camp the Buffalo Bills received some difficult news. Due to non-football injuries, running back Nyheim Hines will be out for the entire 2023 season.
The news was first shared by Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, who noted that Hines suffered a “significant knee injury off-site and is expected to miss the entire 2023 season.
