Outside of players having to deal with the elements throughout the day, nothing about Sunday’s final round at The Open was all that normal, and Brian Harman is more than happy to be the man responsible for that.
With 18 holes to play, the No. 26 player in the world who hasn’t won since May 2017 not only held the 54-hole lead but started the day with a five-shot cushion. You look down the leaderboard, and Harman had managed to lap the likes of Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, and Cam Young over the first three days.

Harman decimated The Open field by six strokes, making it look easy at Royal Liverpool. That prompted a wide variety of fan reactions.
Brian Harman didn’t just win his first major championship, he decimated the field. He beat some of the world’s best golfers by six-plus strokes to win the 151st Open Championship. Regardless of the chirping Harman received all week, he kept his head down and put on a clinic.
The former Bulldog joined Bubba Watson as the second Georgia golfer to ever win a major.
The New York Jets have a new quarterback this season. After signing Aaron Rodgers, the team finally has a top-level signal-caller. They also still have a great young receiver in Garrett Wilson.
And based on recent training camp highlights, those two appear to be quite fond of one another.
During a full-pad practice, the Jets offense worked on some redzone plays. The play breaks down, but Rodgers escapes the pocket to his left. Wilson sees Rodgers get out of trouble and breaks off his route, heading across the back line of the endzone.

Red Bull made Formula 1 history on Sunday when Max Verstappen claimed yet another win in the Hungarian Grand Prix. It was the seventh-straight victory for the leader in the Drivers’ Championship, but the history also gave the team their 12th-straight win dating back to last season.
That moved Red Bull to the top of the record books, passing McLaren and their 11-straight victories to start the 1988 season.

Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson knows Brian Harman on and off the course. As the former Bulldog was running away with the Open Championship, Johnson gave him a vote of confidence regarding his Ryder Cup spot following his third round.
“What is transpiring this week, I would even say last week, and the last couple tournaments he’s played in does not surprise me in the least,” Johnson said.
Outside of a bogey on 5, Brian Harman coasted through Sunday’s final round, closing with a 6-shot cushion atop the leaderboard to win his first major.

As the best players in the world struggled Sunday at Royal Liverpool, Brian Harman showed why he deserved to win the Claret Jug.
Amid the controversy surrounding the running back market in recent weeks, Browns star Nick Chubb weighed in on the situation and offered his own insight on why he thinks players at his position aren’t getting paid what they’re worth.
“They say we get hit every play and we’re more injury prone and we’re all on the field doing the same thing,” Chubb told reporters Sunday. “But only that applies to us. If we’re taking the most risk doing the most, then we should be valued more.
Garoppolo reportedly underwent foot surgery and spent his offseason recovering from the injury.
