The sports world was shocked Monday morning by news of Al-Hilal’s massive bid for Paris-Saint Germain forward Kylian Mbappé. The Saudi Arabian club bid $332 million for the 2018 World Cup champion, an astounding fee that underscored the kingdom’s vast oil wealth.
With Mbappé said to be in line for a $776 million salary should he elect to play out the remaining year of his contract in Riyadh, stars in other sports are taking notice with varying degrees of seriousness—including Lakers forward LeBron James.
If we are to assign winners and losers of this Saquon Barkley ordeal, obviously you would now pick the Giants as a victor. Barkley, a source confirmed, signed a one-year deal worth $11 million Tuesday morning. This was, essentially, a $2 million up-front payment on the franchise tag salary he was already slated to receive, plus roughly $900,000 in incentive payments. The source also confirmed that the new deal offers no protections for Barkley against being franchise-tagged again in 2024.

A family spokesperson shared a statement with NBA insider Shams Charania writing the following:
“Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU.
The result of the United States women’s national team’s 2023 FIFA World Cup debut looked good on paper to many fans, but with sky-high expectations comes a bit more criticism. The number of opportunities squandered by the USWNT jumped off the page, as they outshot Vietnam 28–0 but managed just three goals and seven shots on target.
When all was said and done, the USWNT will happily take the three points and use the opening performance as one to build upon. Star forward Alex Morgan echoed that sentiment, preaching the need for the team to exercise “a little more patience.
