After the OWGR denied LIV Golf points, the Saudi-backed league put other plans in motion to get their players into The Open.
LIV Golf isn’t giving up on finding a way to get their players in major championships.
LIV was denied OWGR points earlier this month. That decision is going to make it very difficult for most of the players on LIV to gain entrance into the four majors. But they immediately pivoted in trying to secure a way into The Open Championship.

The Eagles acquired safety Kevin Byard from the Titans on Monday in exchange for Terrell Edmunds and two selections in the 2024 NFL draft, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Philadelphia’s trade for Byard comes as the Eagles seek to overcome injuries to safeties Reed Blankenship and Justin Evans. Byard, drafted by Tennessee in ‘16, has registered 27 interceptions in his eight-year NFL career.
Through six games this season, the two-time Pro Bowler has tallied 47 tackles. In 2022, Byard notched four interceptions and 108 tackles.
Sportsbooks posted arguably their biggest win of the season over NFL public bettors in Week 7. Losses by the Lions, Dolphins, Bills, and the Browns winning but failing to cover, resulted in massive swings in favor of sportsbooks.
The defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs won their sixth straight game after beating Justin Herbert and the Chargers. Their division dominance has the club in great shape in their quest for an eighth consecutive AFC West title.
The Denver Broncos defeated the Green Bay Packers, 19-17, on Sunday at Mile High. It was the first home victory for head coach Sean Payton.
The team’s only other win came in Chicago against the Bears. It could also be their last victory for a little while as the team faces the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills in their next two games.
Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton says he celebrated the team’s win over the Green Bay Packers with a sushi dinner even though he doesn’t like sushi.
The Dallas Mavericks’ season begins on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs, and they’re taking some elaborate measures to prepare for Victor Wembanyama.
Dallas faces one of the most physically unique players in the NBA. Wembanyama stands at 7’3” and features an 8-foot wingspan, and boasts a surprising level of coordination for someone his height. Long story short, he’s a matchup problem in every way.
Naturally, a specimen of Wembanyama’s status demands unique methods of preparation. Dallas certainly met that challenge in practice this week.
Maybe the Tennessee Titans enjoy being the farm system for the Philadelphia Eagles, supplying the defending NFC Champions with talent to keep them in contention.
At least it seems that way because Monday the clubs reached agreement on a trade that will send former All-Pro safety Kevin Byard to the Eagles in exchange for a fifth- and sixth-round draft pick in the 2024 draft and reserve safety Terrell Edmunds, a source confirmed for OutKick.
NFL Media was first to report the transaction.
The home-field disadvantage has been real in the ALCS, with the road team winning the first six games. Houston gets the decisive Game 7 at home, for better or worse.
The Warriors host the Suns on Tuesday in a budding rivalry game between two Western Conference contenders.
Kevin Durant has not played in the Bay Area since he left Golden State in the summer of 2019 and Chris Paul gets a crack at Phoenix, which traded him to the Wizards for Bradley Beal this past summer. Paul was later dealt to the Warriors, which set up a season-opening revenge game against his old club after he joined up with his one-time rivals.
The best holiday in pro football takes place in October every year. It features not the pretty-boy quarterbacks, the red-faced coaches, the suited broadcasters, nor even the best players at any one position. No, this holiday is bigger and broader than those; it’s more inclusive, more far-reaching, more … fun. It highlights an overlooked and evolving position, celebrating those who can catch and who can block, but who now do both in closer-to-equal measure; those who are part lineman and part receiver: hybrids, the versatile, with counterculture vibes.
The Giants halted a four-game losing skid Sunday, defeating the Commanders, 14—7, with Tyrod Taylor at quarterback. The veteran signal-caller was filling in for an injured Daniel Jones, who’s struggled for much of the 2023 NFL season thus far.
Following Taylor’s solid performance, Giants coach Brian Daboll was asked whether there is an argument for Taylor to remain the starter even when Jones becomes healthy. Daboll’s answer left the door wide open for a quarterback controversy and almost certainly will be a talking point over the next few days.
