Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra has apologized for his terse response to a question posed by ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne following the Heat’s 111-108 victory over the Nuggets in Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night.
The Heat trailed the Nuggets by as many as 15 points in the contest. But strong performances from Gabe Vincent, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo helped offset Nikola Jokić’s 41 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.
However, when Shelburne asked Spoelstra for his thoughts on making Jokić merely a “scorer,” Spoelstra delivered an unpleasant response.

Amidst the stunning news of the PGA Tour LIV Golf merger, tour commissioner Jay Monahan explained himself, or did he?
Tuesday morning, the sports world was shaken to its core. The PGA Tour announced they are merging with LIV Golf and the DP World Tour. This puts an end to the division within the sport of golf, primarily between the PGA and LIV.
Hours after the news surfaced, PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan held a press conference to provide further detail on the matter.
“I know you’ve heard me say a couple times that circumstances change.
Miami’s Game 2 adjustment allowed Jimmy Butler to pester Jamal Murray. It’s not an overstatement to say this showdown could decide the series.
After a sluggish Game 2 in which he had 12 points with 2:35 to go, the Nuggets’ point guard will have to return to his efficient scoring ways against Butler if Denver wants to reclaim home-court advantage.
Matt Harmon and Frank Schwab debate who will be this year’s Denver Broncos – a team with a ton of hype that becomes the biggest disappointment of the season.
Miami can’t get help soon enough. All postseason, the Miami Heat have been this year’s Cinderella story as the Jimmy Butler-led group fights for the Larry O’Brien trophy with a shorthanded roster.

The NFL reportedly is investigating Colts cornerback Isaiah Rodgers for violating its gambling policy, and the fourth-year cornerback could be in for a very serious punishment.
Pro Football Talk reports Rodgers is facing a potential lifetime ban from the NFL. Commissioner Roger Goodell has “unilateral authority” over all gambling-related cases, and the league’s gambling policy gives him the right to kick Rodgers out of the league.
The San Francisco 49ers quarterback situation — as it was last season — will be one of the most focused-upon storylines across the NFL. While everyone and their mother knew there was going to be some kind of quarterback drama, tight end George Kittle may have just fanned those flames a little bit.
Kittle spoke to the media during OTAs and from what he’s seen so far, Trey Lance has drastically improved.
“I’m not gonna lie to you guys, I think Trey looks significantly better than he did last year.”

Seven months ago, Blue Jays starting pitcher Alek Manoah finished third in voting for the American League Cy Young Award. Now, he’s heading back to the minors.
Toronto announced it’s sending its former ace to the Florida Complex League on Tuesday, one day after Manoah gave up six runs while recording just one out against the Astros. Through 13 starts, Manoah is 1-7 with a 6.36 ERA.
“It’s not a knee-jerk reaction,” manager John Schnedier said of the decision, per MLB.com’s Keegan Matheson.
