Giants General Manager Joe Schoen said this week that signing quarterback Russell Wilson leaves the team open to taking a player at any position with the third overall pick in the draft, but attention has shifted to a player who plays a couple of them.
Betting markets now favor the Giants taking Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter with the third pick and head coach Brian Daboll got a chance to weigh in on the cornerback/wide receiver during his own media session in Palm Beach.
PALM BEACH – The official word at the end of the NFL’s annual meeting is that the 40-minute Tush Push debate was productive but more study and thought are needed, so banning the play, brought to the meeting in the form of a Green Bay Packers proposal, is tabled until May.
That’s the narrative.
Except the narrative is incomplete.
In fact, NFL leadership wanted to ban the Tush Push in a vote on Tuesday but simply couldn’t convince enough teams to join the effort.

Although Pittsburgh Steelers GM Omar Khan stated that the team would like to keep both the newly acquired DK Metcalf and George Pickens, Ben Roethlisberger isn’t completely ruling out a trade.
Spencer Te’o, the co-host of Big Ben’s podcast—Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger—started the speculation surrounding Pickens’ future, stating that the acquisition and extension of Metcalf could “mean the end of George.
The past few seasons for the Fightin’ Phils may not have gone as the Philadelphia Phillies organization hoped, but the future looks bright in Reading.
“I’m very excited. I think the group this year is a lot different from the last two years,” Fightin Phils Manager Al Pedrique said in his opening Media Day news conference. “The fact is, we are younger. Fun players to work with, and I think overall, we have a well-balanced team.
The Oklahoma women’s basketball season did not end the way the Sooners would have preferred when Connecticut dropped OU in the Sweet 16 round last week, 82-59. Paige Bueckers had an all-time great performance in the second half to lead the Huskies.
More help is on the way.
Aaliyah Chavez, who committed to play for coach Jennie Baranczyk and the Sooners last week as the No. 1 high school recruit in the country, added to her trophy collection Monday. Chavez won the girls’ McDonald’s All-American 3-point contest.
One year after a record run on quarterbacks in the NFL draft, the prevailing theme around this year’s crop of college passers is uncertainty.
While Cam Ward appears to be solidifying his case to be the Tennessee Titans’ pick with the No. 1 overall selection, the upcoming group at the position hasn’t sparked the same excitement that Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels and the four other signal-callers taken in the top 12 picks ignited last year.
The highlighted discussion at the 2025 NFL owners meetings was the “tush push” topic.
That will continue.
Earlier this offseason ahead of the talks between the 32 owners in the NFL that occurred this week in Florida, the Green Bay Packers authored a proposal.
It earned the support of 16 NFL teams. The idea was to ban the “tush push” play run by the Philadelphia Eagles.
While half the of the NFL’s teams supported banning the play which seems unstoppable, 24 teams needo
to vote in favor of a rule to pass it.
On this day in Boston Celtics history, the ball club tied the NBA record for the biggest record turnaround in a single season for any team in the history of the league.
The team they tied was the 1997-98 San Antonio Spurs, who went from 20-62 the season prior to 56-26 the next. Boston went 24-58 in 2006-07, and the victory, a 92-77 win over the Indiana Pacers, gave the Celtics a 60-15 record so far that season (they would finish 66-16, losing just one more contest that season). Still, for the Celtics, the regular season record was far from the focus.
