Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders just recovered from an undisclosed health issue, and he’s wasting no time in trying to bolster his new coaching staff.
During the Big 12 media days on Thursday, Sanders revealed that he’s trying to make two big additions to his coaching staff. The first is trying to land Byron Leftwich to join his offensive staff in some capacity.
This might come as a surprise, since a report in March circulated that Leftwich – who had last served as an offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers – had already joined the staff in Boulder.

The NTT IndyCar series is gearing up for a weekend doubleheader at Iowa Speedway, but things got off to an interesting start when the first on-track session of the weekend was delayed by some very serious weather.
IndyCar drivers were set to hit the track Friday afternoon after the Indy NXT drivers did some practicing of their own.
The Indy NXT drivers managed to get their session in; however, the start of the IndyCar high-line practice session was delayed because of the weather.

Captain Nathan Smith, Lance Simpson has a message for you.
Simpson, a rising senior at Tennessee, ran away with the title at the 2025 Trans-Mississippi Amateur on Friday at The Pfau Course at Indiana University in Bloomington. Simpson had only one bogey over 72 holes and finished at 17 under for the week, four clear of Cooper Schultz.

Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. declared for the 2025 Home Run Derby in Atlanta on Thursday and is looking to bring the same “70 percent” mentality that has served him well since he returned from the IL on June 3. Former Alabama basketball player Darius Miles will stand trial for capital murder charges with proceedings to begin the week of Dec. 1. The date was set by Tuscaloosa judge Daniel F. Pruet and takes place two years after Miles was arrested in connection with the shooting death of Jamea Harris. 
Miles has been held without bail in Tuscaloosa County Jail since he was arrested on Jan. 15, 2023.
