Jul. 9—MITCHELL — The former leader of Mitchell Baseball Association (MBA) has criticized the organization’s decision makers for still not having a clear path forward for players old enough to play American Legion baseball.
Jason Christensen, former Mitchell Baseball Association president, said he was put under a “gag order” by the Mitchell Baseball Association, that association leadership doesn’t want to hear from parents and that no one is sticking up for the kids who play baseball, including his own.

In February, Minnesota Vikings linebacker Dallas Turner was reportedly defrauded of $240,000 in a scam orchestrated by crooks falsely claiming to represent his bank. The perpetrators, posing as representatives from JPMorgan Chase in Arizona, deceived Turner with a forged story of unauthorized withdrawal attempts on his account. 
Turner took the bait. 
Convinced by their ruse, the second-year player wire-transferred $240,000 to the scammers, splitting the sum into two separate accounts of $120,000 each. He only later grasped the reality of the scheme after talking with a relative.

The Philadelphia Phillies likely need to deal some of their top prospects at the trade deadline after failing to adequately upgrade their bullpen during the offseason. They will have to make some tough decisions on prospects like Andrew Painter, Justin Crawford and Aidan Miller, and whether they should part with them to go all-in this season.
The Phillies have been linked to two high-leverage relievers from the Pittsburgh Pirates — David Bednar and Dennis Santana.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — All Blacks head coach Scott Robertson has made three changes to his lineup for Saturday’s second test against France, confirming Ardie Savea as captain in place of the injured Scott Barrett.
Patrick Tuipulotu will take Barrett’s place in the second row while Caleb Clarke comes in on the left wing in place of Sevu Reece who suffered a grade one head knock in the first minute of the first test.
Rieko Ioane moves from the left to the right wing and uncapped Highlanders center Timoci Tavatavanawai joins the reserve bench.
