Nikola Jokić finds himself occupying the title of top dog in the NBA at the moment but you wouldn’t know it from watching him off the court. The Nuggets center is as humble as they come and fans took notice when he didn’t get too emotional or excited after winning the Western Conference finals or NBA Finals.
Charles Barkley noticed the same unassuming attitude and said it reminded him of a another big man superstar who acted like it was just another day at the office.
“He reminds me of Tim Duncan,” Barkley said on The Bill Simmons Podcast.

I have been a running backs truther for as long as I can remember playing fantasy football. My first-ever draft pick in a draft came back in 1998, when I took Terrell Davis. I later traded for then-rookie Fred Taylor. Can you say championship? Since then, I’ve focused my early-round picks on runners. From Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, Marshall Faulk or LaDainian Tomlinson in the past to the likes of Ezekiel Elliott, Alvin Kamara or Austin Ekeler in more recent years, getting a couple of stud runners was always at the forefront of my fantasy roster build.

The Greek coach lost his cool as his team was being out-rebounded by the United States in the FIBA World Cup.
Going against Team USA is the biggest challenge in international basketball — even when the Americans send a young roster without veteran All-NBA talent. Greece learned that lesson the hard way on Monday in the second game of group play at the 2023 FIBA men’s World Cup.
The U.S. beat Greece, 109-81, in a game that saw the team hammer their way to the foul line, dominate the glass, and unselfishly share the ball at every opportunity.

EVERYONE is making Boltman memes.
Bless the Pro Football Hall of Fame for giving us one of the funniest sports tweets of all time.

This weekend, Boltman visited the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
This included a moment to pay his respects in front of the bronze bust of the late Junior Seau pic.twitter.com/eGMnKSjUey

Junior Seau was a legend, and if you told me there was a way to make “paying respects to Junior Seau” funny, there was absolutely no way I’d believe you.

Who was the statistical winner this preseason?
NFL preseason is over, and now we have the short wait until the opening week of the 2023 season. At this point the majority of rookie QBs had a chance to get their feet wet in live fire, and for the most part the 2023 class did pretty dang well.
There’s always varying opinions of what preseason can actually tell us. Some are resolved that it’s a huge predictor of future ability, while others think it’s totally meaningless. Like most things, the truth falls in the middle.

It was the night of Jan. 8, and Commanders coach Ron Rivera was making the hourlong commute from FedEx Field in the Maryland suburbs back to his Virginia home. Sitting shotgun was his wife, Stephanie, and it didn’t take Rivera long to bend her ear with the 26–6 win over the Cowboys to close out an up-and-down 2022 season.
The topic: quarterbacks. And, really, not quarterbacks plural, but one in particular.

Skip Bayless is unfortunately back on television this week and it didn’t take him long to remind everyone that he’s really hard to watch and impossible to take seriously.
FS1’s morning debate show, Undisputed, had been off the air for the past few months after Shannon Sharpe, who will be on ESPN’s First Take starting on Sept. 4, left the show.
Bayless will now be joined by Keyshawn Johnson, Richard Sherman and Michael Irvin. He kicked off Monday’s first show with such a cringey rant that should have led to sports fans immediately changing the channel.
Seriously, check this out.
