The Chicago Sky carried a 3-9 record during the 2025 WNBA season into Sunday’s contest against the 9-4 Atlanta Dream.
Atlanta added nine-time All-Star center Brittney Griner this offseason after she spent the first 11 years of her career with the Phoenix Mercury.
While Griner has been primarily guarding second-year center Kamilla Cardoso during the contest, she also faced off against 2024 WNBA All-Star forward Angel Reese, who is averaging 10.8 points and 10.
Surely Tommy Fleetwood had done it.
The 34-year-old Englishman had tried, tried and tried again, 158 times in fact, but to no avail. His 41 career top-10s? The most on the PGA Tour by a player without a victory since 1983 – and seven more than the next closest player, Brett Quigley, who is now 55 years old. Forget best player to win a major; Fleetwood has long been the best player never to win on the world’s biggest tour, period.
And yet, late Sunday afternoon at the Travelers Championship, Fleetwood’s moment had seemingly come at last.
During Sunday’s broadcast of the Indiana Fever versus Las Vegas Aces game, ESPN’s Rebecca Lobo apologized for apparently sounding too MAGA, a moment as absurd as it sounds.
While discussing a foul call, Lobo and WNBA play-by-play announcer Pam Ward debated officiating. Lobo noted that Ward’s disagreement with her on the assessment of a foul on a screening Aces player “makes America great,” a comment that left Ward silent.
“So they disagree with you?” Ward asked.
Lobo responded, “They do, and I disagree with them, and that’s fine.
