Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers was once considered a potential first-round pick in the NFL Draft. However, an inefficient senior season where he led the SEC in interceptions sent him plummeting down the draft boards.
Ewers didn’t hear his name called until the seventh round, when the Miami Dolphins selected the quarterback with the 231st pick in the NFL Draft, making him the 13th QB picked. A far cry from his potential as a former five-star prospect coming out of high school and the #1 quarterback prospect in 2022.
Obviously, Ewers couldn’t return to Texas.

Jax Ulbrich, the 21-year-old son of former interim Jets head coach Jeff Ulbrich, was identified as the prankster making calls to NFL Draft prospect Shedeur Sanders to play cruel jokes as he awaited calls from NFL teams.
Jeff Ulbrich, now the Atlanta Falcons’ defensive coordinator, saw his team issue an apology for his son’s actions.
Jax called Sanders, pretending to be Saints general manager Mickey Loomis, and told him he’d need to “keep waiting longer.”
“It’s been a long wait, man,” Jax said on the phone.

CLEVELAND — Red Sox catcher Connor Wong (fractured pinky) began a rehab assignment for Triple-A Worcester on Sunday.

He’s batting second in the WooSox lineup. The plan is for him to play seven innings, manager Alex Cora.

Cora said the Red Sox don’t know yet how many rehab games Wong will need before he’s ready to be activated from the IL. But it’s likely he’ll need more than one.

“We’ll play it day by day and we don’t have to rush him,” Cora said Sunday at Progressive Field before Boston’s series finale against the Guardians.
