Apr. 13—VALLEY CITY, N.D. — The University of Jamestown softball team started quickly and it helped them get an 8-0 win over Valley City State University on Sunday, April 13, at the Vikings’ Softball Complex.
The Jimmies’ Kayla Quintanilla hit a two-run triple in the first to push the Jimmies in front 2-0. The score stayed that way until the third when the Jimmies tacked one more and they scored one in the fourth to take a 4-0 lead.

Apr. 13—OAKLAND CITY, In. — The University of Jamestown men’s volleyball team could not stop the bleeding in a five-set loss to Oakland City University (25-15, 25-18, 19-25, 23-25, 10-15) on Sunday, April 13, at the Mighty Oaks’ Johnson Center.
The Jimmies got off to a 10-4 lead in the first set and they were able to push it all the way out ot 2-11 drawing a Mighty Oaks timeout. The timeout did little to slow the Jimmies down as they were able to get the 25-15 first set win.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Joseph Woll made 25 saves and the Toronto Maple Leafs moved closer to clinching the Atlantic Division title by defeating the Carolina Hurricanes 4-1 on Sunday, reaching the 50-win mark.
Pontus Holmberg, Auston Matthews, William Nylander and John Tavares scored for Toronto, which has won three straight and seven of its last eight overall. Morgan Rielly had three assists.
Toronto has 104 points, and Tampa Bay, which began the day four points back, could equal that mark at best.

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Rory McIlroy has endured plenty of anguishing moments while seeking to snap a decade-long drought in major championships.
That made celebrating Sunday’s win at the Masters with his caddie and longtime friend Harry Diamond all the more special.
They became friends after meeting on a putting green in Holywood, Northern Ireland, when they were 7 years old and have remained close since. When McIlroy decided to make a change on his bag in the summer of 2017, he asked Diamond to become his caddie.

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — Yegor Sharangovich broke a tie at 1:30 of the third period with the first of his two goals and the Calgary Flames beat the San Jose Sharks 5-2 on Sunday night to bolster their late playoff push.
Calgary won for the third time in four games to pull within two points of St. Louis for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference and three of Minnesota for the first wild card. The Flames have two games left, while the Blues and Wild each have one to go.
MacKenzie Weegar, Adam Klapka and Matt Coronato also scored for Calgary, and Dustin Wolf made 28 saves.

In 2025, there were 27 eagles recorded by 21 different players, and each of them received a pair of crystal highball glasses for each eagle. Rory McIlroy, Zach Johnson, Sungjae Im, Maverick McNealy and Patrick Reed had multiple eagles on the week.
Also, there were also six crystal vases handed out for the daily low score (there were twos 66s on Saturday and two more Sunday).
