Let’s just say that Flores and Anderson were not getting each other’s addresses to send Christmas letters.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Paul Skenes is in a routine.
Pitch deep into a game. Allow a single run, if that. Walk away without a win.
That didn’t change Sunday. The 23-year-old Pittsburgh Pirates ace worked 7 2/3 innings against the Philadelphia Phillies, giving up one unearned run on two hits with seven strikeouts and one walk. He was pulled with the game tied 1-all.
Skenes remained 4-6 in his sophomore season despite lowering his ERA to 1.88, second-best in the National League behind the New York Mets’ Kodai Senga (1.59).
This time, he didn’t mind the no-decision.

GAINESVILLE, Va. — Joaquin Niemann of Chile won LIV Golf Virginia on Sunday for his fourth victory in the Saudi-funded tour’s first eight events of the season, closing with an 8-under 63 to beat Graeme McDowell and Anirban Lahiri by a stroke.
Niemann broke out of a logjam at the top with birdies on Nos. 14-17 and parred the par-4 18th to finish at 15-under 198 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.
The 26-year-old Niemann also won this year in Australia, Singapore and Mexico. He has six career LIV victories after winning twice on the PGA Tour.

Kohen Brown becomes the Longhorns’ 11th commitment of the 2026 class.

Texas didn’t offer Rivals250 wide receiver Kohen Brown until mid-May, but the late offer did nothing to diminish the Longhorns’ chances. After taking an official visit to Texas over the weekend, Brown announced on Sunday that he had given Texas a commitment, giving the Longhorns another speedy playmaker to eventually plug into Steve Sarkisian’s offense.
A one-time USC commitment, Texas stopped by Waxahachie on multiple occasions during the spring evaluation period.
