It’s been a month-and-a-half since OutKick first reported on a youth transgender athlete study that was allegedly funded by Nike. In addition to Nike refusing to comment on-the-record about the study, one other important figure has remained silent: Dr. Kathryn Ackerman, the lead researcher on the study. 
OutKick attempted to reach Ackerman via email over a dozen times (through multiple channels), but never received a response. However, one of her employers, Boston Children’s Hospital, promoted the study in its magazine back in 2024.

The rumblings Henry Cejudo heard about Sean O’Malley‘s UFC 316 training camp is making him confidently pick against him.
After losing his bantamweight title to Merab Dvalishvili (19-4 MMA, 12-2 UFC) at UFC 306, O’Malley (18-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC) will get an opportunity to reclaim his belt when the pair run things back in Saturday’s main event (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
O’Malley entered his first fight against Dvalishvili with a hip injury which later required surgery.

The 2024-25 Detroit High School Sports Awards are proud to announce Pro Football Hall of Famer Dwight Freeney as the guest speaker for its live show on Friday, June 20 at The Fillmore Detroit. The show is produced with the support of Gift of Life Michigan.
Freeney played in 16 NFL seasons, including 11 with the Indianapolis Colts, winning the Super Bowl with them in 2006.
His final season was in 2017, and he finished with the Detroit Lions, playing in five games.

Freeney also played with the Chargers, Cardinals, Seahawks and Falcons. In his career, he tallied 332 tackles and 125.

The Denver Broncos signed tough, physical safety Talanoa Hufanga this spring, an addition that will make Vance Joseph’s defense even more formidable in 2025.
Hufanga made his on-field debut at the start of organized team activities last week, and coach Sean Payton was asked for his initial impressions of the 25-year-old safety.
“Good,” Payton said. “We’re not in pads, so when you ask about a safety, it’s hard to elaborate when you’re not in shoulder pads and helmets or full gear. He’s smart. He’s a real good leader. He’s played in real good defenses.
