Greg Norman cannot stay out of the news, but the latest allegations are severe as the Australian golfer finds himself in hot water.
Greg Norman is accustomed to be in the center of controversy. But this latest news is a different kind he would prefer to avoid. Norman and his wife, Kirsten Kutner, are being sued for a 2021 incident in connection to an alleged sexual assault with a minor, according to an original report by The Daily Mail.
San Diego State University has sent a written notification to the Mountain West that it plans on leaving the conference, and the school asked the conference to delay the official deadline to withdraw, Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger reports.
According to Dellenger, SDSU has until June 30 to officially let the Mountain West know that it is leaving the conference. If the school makes the deadline, the exit fee will be around $17 million, whereas the fee doubles if it is late.
SDSU would like the deadline moved to July and wants to discuss the conference lowering its exit fee.
The National Basketball Players Association issued a firm statement in support of Ja Morant on Friday on the heels of the Grizzlies star receiving a 25-game suspension for holding a gun on Instagram Live in May.
NBPA executive director Tamika Tremaglio labeled the discipline imposed on Morant as “excessive” and “inappropriate,” citing specifically the NBA’s requirement of the 23-year-old to fulfill unstated conditions before he can return.
Tremaglio also declared the NBPA’s intent to work with Morant going forward as he deals with the discipline.
