It’s not easy being LeBron James’s son. Bronny James, the USC recruit, has faced lofty expectations ever since videos of him playing basketball went viral in middle school and he has been subjected to NBA hype ever since—his father voicing his desire to share the court with his son didn’t help. 
But former NBA guard and current Inside the NBA analyst Kenny Smith is calling for the NBA world to pump the brakes on Bronny’s hype. It’s not that Smith doesn’t believe in the young guard’s abilities, but he notes just how hard it is to play a single minute in the NBA.

Nikola Jokic’s rise from second-round draft pick to two-time league MVP is one of the most improbable sports stories in recent memory. The Nuggets’ selection of him with the 41st pick in the 2014 draft famously occurred during a Taco Bell commercial, and he’s far surpassed any reasonable projections that pundits had for him before his ascension to NBA stardom.

As offseason hope blooms among all 32 NFL teams, Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons spoke recently about why the 2023 campaign could finally be Dallas’s year, thanks to an elite defense he says has potential similar to one of the NFL’s greatest defensive units.
Speaking to reporters during OTAs, the third-year star pointed out the potential impact of Dallas returning 10 defensive starters and adding veteran cornerback Stephon Gilmore and rookie defensive tackle Mazi Smith, the 26th pick in the 2023 draft.

Everyone knows about the “Little League Home Run.” If somehow you don’t, let me enlighten you. It occurs when a player puts a ball in play, generally not very far, and ends up scoring on the same play. That nearly never happens in the Major Leagues. But it did happen for the Tampa Bay Rays against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday afternoon.
With Rays hitter Yandy Diaz at the plate and Manuel Margot on first base, Tampa Bay put on a hit-and-run play. There were two outs in the inning, so Tampa tried to manufacture some offense. And boy, did it ever work.

When Indiana takes the field for the Regional final on Sunday night, Tyler Cerny will not be on the field. The Hoosiers’ starting second baseman is suspended over a rule that doesn’t need to exist.
Indiana entered the weekend as the No. 3 seed in the Lexington, Kentucky, regional. A 12-run win over two-seed West Virginia on Friday put it into the winner’s side of the bracket and set it up for a meeting with Kentucky on Saturday.
The Hoosiers proceeded to beat the Wildcats and advanced to the Regional final.

Hailey Van Lith and Team USA will return home with gold medals around their necks after an impressive run at the 3X3 Basketball World Cup. They won seven of their eight games and capped the tournament with a win over France on Sunday.
Van Lith, who recently transferred from Louisville to LSU, joined Stanford star Cameron Brink, USA Basketball veteran Linnae Harper, and three-time 3X3 World Cup participant Cierra Burdick to round out the four-player roster. They were coached by Connecticut Sun president Jennifer Rizzotti.
Team USA arrived in Austria at the end of May.
