The Celtics made plenty of frustrating decisions in their Game 3 loss to the Miami Heat, but if you ask John Tomase, it was how the players conducted themselves on the court that was most difficult to watch.

Michael Block awoke in the rental house near Oak Hill Country Club on Monday and sobbed. These were tears of joy, as he reflected on four days that, at 46 years old, have changed his life.
1. I’m not an analytics guy. I try my best not to pay attention to any analytics in any sport. I still have no idea what WAR is.
So I have no idea how ESPN’s analytics gave the Heat a 3% chance to beat the Celtics before the Eastern Conference finals, but they did.

ESPN Analytics then gave the Heat just a 35% chance to win the series after it won the first two games in Boston.
Earlier this month, the Colts asked the NFL to investigate the Commanders for tampering after an ESPN report noted that Washington had reached out to retired quarterback Andrew Luck, whose contractual rights still belong to Indianapolis.
The allegation has been resolved, ESPN reported Monday, and the Colts seem satisfied with the outcome, league sources told ESPN’s Stephen Holder.
The investigation determined the Commanders never directly spoke to Luck or anyone close to him, according to ESPN’s sources.
The New York Mets swept a doubleheader against the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday, giving them an overall three-game sweep. The second half of that doubleheader was part of ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball package. After the game, ESPN SportsCenter anchor Nicole Briscoe attempted to interview Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor. But Justin Verlander took issue with the length of the interview.
During Lindor’s interview, someone clearly shouts “F**k ESPN! Let’s go!”
Because it occurs off-camera, it’s unclear who that person is. However, it sounds an awful lot like Justin Verlander.
Brooks Koepka squashed plenty of narratives with his PGA Championship win at Oak Hill on Sunday, but the idea that he’s now ‘back’ seems disingenuine as that implies he ever left in the first place. He now has five major championships to his name, one more than Rory McIlroy, and he’s officially solidified himself as a generational great.
While Koepka was the story of the week at the PGA Championship, Michael Block having the greatest four-day stretch of his 46 years on Earth was a close second.

Scheffler has one goal in mind with the Ryder Cup on the docket and he doesn’t care where his teammates come from.
Scottie Scheffler had another terrific showing at Oak Hill, as he finished tied for second with Viktor Hovland at 7-under par.
The 2023 PGA Championship was his 8th top 10 finish in a major dating back to 2020.
As NFL quarterback transactions go, Josh Johnson agreeing to a contract with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday is easy to overlook.
Johnson is a 37-year-old who is signing a one-year deal. If he takes a regular-season snap for Baltimore in 2023 it’s bad news. Because that will mean something went wrong with starter Lamar Jackson. And backup Tyler Huntly.
It’s quite possible the Ravens decide to go with only two quarterbacks on the active roster. So Johnson might not even be around when the regular season begins in September.
Carmelo Anthony’s retirement is a good time to remember his iconic Twitter insult.
Carmelo Anthony finally called it a career on Monday morning when he announced his retirement from the NBA. Anthony will go down as one of the best scorers of his generation, a 6’8 walking bucket who could splash jumpers all over the court against any type of defender.
CBS play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz shared an emotional story about why he thinks Bills fans are the “best” while meeting with some of the team recently at the PGA Championship at Oak Hill in upstate New York.
Nantz’s mother died during the 2022 NFL season, and he called Buffalo’s Week 5 game against the Steelers the following Sunday. Nantz expressed his gratitude for the compassion the team and Bills Mafia showed him after his loss.
“This guy (quarterback Josh Allen) reached out to me first off on his own,” Nantz said while standing next to Allen.
