After four years since retiring from boxing, Manny Pacquiao has decided that he wants back in and is set to square off for the WBC welterweight championship this July, according to ESPN, and many boxing fans are not pleased.
The 46-year-old Pacquiao hasn’t fought professionally since 2021, when he lost in a unanimous decision against Yordenis Ugas for the WBA welterweight championship. However, according to WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, Pacquiao has been itching to return to the ring and will now face Mario Barrios for the belt.
Golden State Warriors fans haven’t yet seen the version of Jimmy Butler who nearly led the Miami Heat to a title in 2023. Instead, Butler has been playing a well-rounded team-first brand of basketball. With Stephen Curry sidelined by a hamstring strain, the Warriors may need Butler to up his production if the franchise wants to book a spot in the Western Conference Finals.
After Golden State’s 93-117 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on May 8, Butler noted that if the time comes for him to take over and put his team on his back, he’s still capable of doing so.
Prior to Friday’s matchup between the Mets and the Chicago Cubs, manager Carlos Mendoza gave updates on three of his rehabbing pitchers…
Sean Manaea
Since Manaea’s last update of throwing from 105 feet earlier in the week, the left-hander is now up to 120 feet and “feeling good.”

The New York Jets might have instilled more hope and optimism following the 2025 NFL draft for some.
ESPN does not think so.
Following the draft, the outlet released their latest NFL power rankings. In it, New York took a big hit as the team fell from No. 27 to 30.
At the draft, the Jets starting things out with offensive lineman Armand Membou at No. 7 overall and then added tight end Mason Taylor in Round 2. Despite both of those players covering needs, ESPN does not see immediate improvements coming from the Jets’ draft class in 2025.
FRISCO – The headline is an eye-catcher.
If its proclamation is true, it ranks as one of the biggest sports stories of the year.
“Jerry Jones no longer calling Dallas Cowboys shots after George Pickens trade”
That’s a monster headline.
That’s a monster story.
It’s also uproarious, with Jerry’s own top staffers getting a good laugh from it.
The Cowboys owner and GM is finally, at age 82, giving up those roles that he’s held – with the tightest of grips – since 1989 purchasing of “America’s Team”?
Nope.
Cancel the celebratory parade.
Rafael Devers is causing a lot of problems for the Boston Red Sox.
Devers has been a cornerstone for the Red Sox since his debut in 2017, signing a 10-year, $313 million deal in 2024 that should keep him in Boston for the rest of his career. He’s been a consistently elite hitter, providing power, patience and relatively low strikeout rates.
Devers’ only weakness is his defense; while far from unplayable, he’s been a well below-average defensive third baseman by most advanced metrics.
