The NFL world is still talking about the draft and the slide of eventual fifth-round pick Shedeur Sanders.ย
Sanders entered the draft with hopes of being a first round pick, setting up a massive draft room to celebrate with custom graphics and logos. That didn’t work out. But while many evaluators, other than Mel Kiper that is, thought Sanders’ talent didn’t justify a first round pick, few saw him falling all the way to the fifth round.

Rolly Romero spoiled Ryan Garcia’s return to action.
In the headlining bout of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves in the heart of New York’s Times Square, Romero (17-2) turned in a solid performance against Garcia (24-2), including scoring the only knockdown of the fight, to win on the scorecards. After 12 rounds, the official judges scored the fight 115-112, 115-112, and 118-109.
Garcia, who returned to action after a one-year suspension, worked a speedy, stiff left jab in the opening round. It was a repeated weapon of choice that set the tone for Garcia’s offense.
If finishes are something you pine for as an MMA fan, the LFA seldom lets you down.
Typically with a finish rate that hovers around 60 percent, the longtime UFC feeder promotion had shows in Minnesota and South Dakota in April. Like usual, it brought some highlight-worthy finishes.
But remarkably, every fight at LFA 206 in Minnesota was a stoppage โย 12 for 12. And the next week, six of nine bouts in South Dakota were finishes for an 87 percent stoppage rate across the two cards. Over the promotion’s past three events, more than 3/4 of the fights have been finishes.
The WNBA preseason kicked off Friday with a matchup between the Dallas Wings and the Las Vegas Aces at Notre Dame’s Purcell Pavilion. While the Aces were able to get an easy 112-78 win, it was a solid debut for Wings rookie Paige Bueckers.
Bueckers has had a very busy couple of weeks, putting up massive performances during March Madness, leading UConn to an NCAA championship and getting selected first overall by Dallas. Now, she had a chance to prove herself on an WNBA court, landing in the Wings’ starting lineup.
The Auburn Tigers are coming off a historic season led by head coach Bruce Pearl.ย
Auburn posted 32 wins on the season, the most in program history. They entered the NCAA Tournament as a No. 1 seed, having incredible success before losing in the Final Four.ย
The Tigers lost to the eventual national champion, Florida, in the Final Four, just after defeating Alabama State, Creighton, Michigan and Michigan State.ย
After a great year with Pearl at the helm, the Tigers lost a few team stars, such as blue-chip freshman Tahaad Pettiford.

Aaron Judge hit his second triple of the season and doubled in the sixth ahead of Paul Goldschmidtโs three-run homer to raise his major league-leading average to .430 and extend his on-base streak to 28 games.
Nearly two weeks after a no-hit bid against the Rays ended in the eighth inning with a retroactive scoring change, Fried (6-0) allowed a clean single to Josรฉ Caballero with one out in the fifth.
