Last November, Deadspin posted an article falsely framing a nine-year-old Kansas City Chiefs fan for wearing blackface during an NFL game.
The author, Carron J. Phillips, showed only the side of the kid’s face painted black; not the full image showing he was wearing black and red face paint in support of the Chiefs.
Here’s the photo Deadspin posted:

Secondly, the piece claimed the fan “hate[s] Black people and the Native Americans at the same time.

Forget champagne problems—the only problem Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has is how to deal with nosy questions from reporters during Super Bowl LVIII media week.
On Wednesday, a brazen reporter dared to ask Kelce about the possibility of him proposing to his pop star girlfriend, Taylor Swift, at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas this weekend.
The reporter asked, “Who’s getting a ring first, the Niners or Taylor?”
Kelce let out a short sigh and said, “I’m hoping I get this ring on Sunday, I know that.

Normally, NFL prospects would never say what team they want to play for ahead of the draft. Not only because it could scare off potential suitors, but also the storyline could spell trouble if they’re not selected by said team. Georgia’s Brock Bowers, however, didn’t seem to care.
When asked which team he wants to play for, the star tight end directly said he wants the Tennessee Titans to call his name come draft day, according to Chris Simms of NBC Sports.

Usually players are tight-lipped on this question.

Just as Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid and San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan are studying extensive scouting reports ahead of Super Bowl LVIII in order to gain an edge, Big Game bettors should be studying up on the records and tendencies of both teams before locking in their wagers as well.
More people than ever are expected to bet a record amount on this year’s Super Bowl, so let’s take a minute to review the betting profiles of the reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs and 49ers, who are aiming to win their first Lombardi Trophy since the ‘90s.

One year after Eric Bieniemy and the Kansas City Chiefs parted ways, coach Andy Reid still has nothing but respect for his former offensive coordinator.
During Super Bowl LVIII media week, Reid said he hadn’t had a chance to talk to Bieniemy since his former OC was let go by the Washington Commanders on Tuesday, but he did offer a few powerful words of support to the beloved ex-Chiefs coach.
“I would tell you I think his coaching future is great,” Reid said on Wednesday. “I’m obviously a big fan of his, and I know the things he can do.

Receiving unwanted relationship advice from family, friends and colleagues can be grating—doubly so if you are Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and your girlfriend is one of Earth’s most famous citizens in musician Taylor Swift.
However, on Wednesday, Chiefs coach Andy Reid admirably cut through the noise and offered Kelce words of wisdom relatable to anyone with a significant other.

Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald set the record straight on why there were no members of LIV Golf in the biennial event.
Team Europe’s Ryder Cup captain, Luke Donald, will make his first PGA Tour start since the Wyndham Championship last August at the WM Phoenix Open this week.
Ahead of the tournament, Donald answered a number of questions. But the topic that garnered the most attention pertained to LIV Golf and the Ryder Cup.
Donald took it upon himself to set the record straight and correct Rory McIlroy.

If Kelce wins another ring there’s nowhere left to go.
If Kansas City win their third Super Bowl in five years you’re going to be hearing one word a whole lot: Retirement. Rumors about Andy Reid’s future in the NFL have picked up steam as the playoffs have progressed, and it’s understandable for the 65-year-old coach.
Perhaps it’s time we also discuss the future of the most famous player on the team: Travis Kelce.
Patrick Mahomes helped build the foundation for the Chiefs’ success, but Kelce has always been its glue.

The rumblings surrounding the Washington Commanders potentially navigating a way to land USC quarterback Caleb Williams in the 2024 NFL draft have picked up steam recently. This follows the team’s decision to hire former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who spent last season as USC’s senior offensive analyst, as its next offensive coordinator.
Kingsbury’s link to Williams drew an even larger spotlight when the USC signal-caller posted on social media showing love to Washington’s new offensive coordinator.

1. I know I have no right to ever complain about my job. I write about the lighter side of sports each day and host a sports media podcast, so nobody wants to hear me pull a woe-is-me.
But if you’ll allow it for one day, I’d like to give you some insight into one of the worst things about this job: My inbox.
Each day, I get a slew of email pitches that range from the nonsensical to the ridiculous to the embarrassing.
This goes to another level during Super Bowl week when people have nothing to do for two weeks in the leadup to an event that is more spectacle than game.
