Hark! The NFC North division belongs to the Detroit Lions. And players went absolutely crazy in the locker room to celebrate their 30-year division drought.
Fans can always expect the postgame scene for a Dan Campbell-led team to be bonkers. Christmas Eve’s scene was next level.
Lions players broke out the dance moves wearing “It’s a Lock” shirts to celebrate their first division title since 1993.
Detroit Lions wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown — who had a monster day and crushed my fantasy team — caught the ruckus on Instagram Live.

Richard Sherman has never been known to hold his opinion, a reputation he kept alive in Week 16 following a questionable penalty during Sunday’s anticipated Cowboys–Dolphins matchup.
The former cornerback took to X (formerly Twitter) to send an irate message to the NFL over a critical roughing the passer call on Miami. The play occurred on third-and-11 from the Dallas five-yard line, when Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott took an apparent late hit from Dolphins pass rusher Christian Wilkins.

Backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett nearly pulled off a stunning comeback victory for the Washington Commanders against the New York Jets, who came back with a go-ahead field goal in the final seconds after blowing a sizable lead.
But Brissett did enough to possibly take the starting quarterback job from Sam Howell. That was also the case last week, but coach Ron Rivera decided to stick with Howell for Sunday’s game.
Pete Carroll went back to Geno Smith six days after Drew Lock completed a comeback victory for the Seattle Seahawks against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander wasn’t named one of the team’s three captains for Sunday’s tilt against the Carolina Panthers, but he opted to join the captains for the game’s coin toss.
He very nearly made a costly mistake, too.
After he successfully won the coin toss for the Packers, Alexander told the referees that he wanted the Green Bay’s defense to come out onto the field, rather than saying the team wanted to defer.
Had he not clarified, the Packers would’ve forgone the opportunity to receive the kick at the start of the second half.

Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions beat the Minnesota Vikings, 30-24, on Sunday to win their first division title since 1993, way back when they played in the NFC Central.
You have to think the new NFC North champs, who are now 11-4 on the season, will surely be celebrating well into Christmas morning.

The Carolina Panthers came oh-so-close to completing an incredible comeback against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, falling just short by a score of 33-30 at Bank of America Stadium.
Making the loss even more painful for Panthers fans was the fact that the team simply ran out of time. With the ball on their own 25-yard line and 19 seconds left in the game, rookie quarterback Bryce Young, in the midst of arguably the best start of his career, completed a pair of passes downfield, the first to D.J. Chark and the second to Adam Thielen.

This lost season for the Washington Commanders will be full of regret and there is no more obvious illustration of that than what has happened with quarterback Sam Howell the past two weeks.
Howell was benched in-game Sunday as the Commanders were losing to the New York Jets. It was the second consecutive week Howell was benched.
And this one was clearly warranted because Howell had thrown two interceptions.
He’d completed only 6 of 22 passes.
And his quarterback rating was 1.7 when he left the game. (That is not a typo).

The Tennessee Titans fell in heartbreaking fashion to the Seattle Seahawks in a 20—17 loss on Sunday that came down to the final seconds. Literally.
Down three points with a minute to go in the fourth quarter, the Titans were advancing down the field into field goal territory hoping to tie the game and go into overtime.
On a 2nd-and-20 at the Titans’ 40-yard-line, quarterback Ryan Tannehill connected with wide receiver Colton Dowell for a three-yard pass, but Dowell couldn’t get out of bounds in time to stop the clock.
