Pacers center James Wiseman suffered a torn left Achilles tendon during Wednesday’s season opener vs. the Pistons, sources say.

Jameson Williams is stunned by his suspension for violating the league’s “performance-enhancing substances” policy, which will cost him the next two games.
An initial reaction on Monday relayed that Williams was going to take the suspension on the chin despite his astonishment, though he did not formally opt out of appealing the two-game ban.
On Thursday, Williams dropped another reaction, saying he won’t be moving forward with an appeal and telling his fans that he never sought a competitive advantage based on the league’s ruling.

There were a lot of people who were stunned to see Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery unload at his team’s captain Brad Marchand over the weekend, and that led to some criticism.
However, none of the criticism is coming from Marchand — y’know, the guy who actually got yelled at — who instead defended his bench boss.
The incident happened on October 19 with the Bruins on the road against the Utah Hockey Club.
In the third period with the B’s leading 1-0, Marchand coughed up the puck, and that led to Utah’s Vladislav Kolyachonok scoring the tying goal.

According to reports, Denver Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds was injured in a shooting last week while leaving a Denver strip club.
According to TV station 9NEWS, court documents reveal that police received a call around 3 am on October 18 from someone reporting a shooting near East Hampden Avenue and South Dahlia Street in Denver. The caller told 911 operators that he was driving a blue Ford Bronco and that he had been shot.
They then received two more calls about the same incident with reports that multiple people had been shot.

Angel Reese has agreed to a multiyear contract extension with Reebok, and a signature shoe line that will be released in 2026, per ESPN.
Reese becomes the fifth active WNBA player to sign a deal, joining Breanna Stewart (Puma), Sabrina Ionescu (Nike), Caitlin Clark (Nike) and A’ja Wilson (Nike). All four of those players were All-WNBA players this season, with Stewart, Clark, and Wilson making First Team and Ionescu making Second Team.

Despite some fans’ disapproval, the 2024 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees is a highly anticipated match up of the best team from each league. 
Based on expert opinion and predictions, as well as computer projection systems, it’s widely assumed that the series is between two evenly matched teams. Fangraphs, for example, has the Dodgers at 52.8% to win the series, with the Yankees at 47.2%. Another projection system, ZiPS, which is housed at Fangraphs and takes the starting pitchers into account, is even closer.
