Major League Baseball’s most exciting player not named Shohei Ohtani has officially been welcomed to the sports memorabilia world.
Just two days after the unbelievable performance by Cincinnati Reds third baseman Elly De La Cruz that included him stealing second… third… and HOME all in ONE inning, those same bases went up for sale in the form of baseball card relics.

BREAKING NEWS
Topps just released an Elly De La Cruz game-used base & home plate relic card celebrating his 3 stolen bases.
There are 7 different color variations of this card, for a total of 388 copies.

It’s’ no secret that Kadarius Toney does not look fondly upon his time with the New York Giants. The team traded him to the Kansas City Chiefs and he won a Super Bowl. And, he’s more than happy to remind Giants fans about that, especially in their Twitter DMs.
But how far is too far? Toney has posted a lot of messages on Twitter regarding the situation. Most of them are funny. Just an NFL player trash-talking fans of his old team. No harm, no foul.

There was certainly no shortage of critics pointing at the Mavericks for their decision to re-sign Kyrie Irving this offseason. Even going back further, the criticism of the team’s decision to trade for him in the first place brought plenty of hot takes from analysts and fans.
But after Dallas made the decision to sign Irving to a three-year deal worth $126 million, team owner Mark Cuban was an open book when talking about the star guard during an interview at the 2023 NBA Summer League.

There has never been a free agent quite like Shohei Ohtani.
The Angels designated hitter/pitcher will hit the open market this offseason on the heels of three of the most dominant individual seasons in the history of baseball, barring a complete second-half collapse in 2023. Teams seem likely to back up the Brink’s truck for the 29-year-old, whose star continues to ascend.
What kind of salary Ohtani will command is anyone’s guess, but it didn’t stop All-Stars from taking guesses in a video tweeted by the Associated Press Tuesday morning.

I don’t know about the internal construction of Mr and Mrs. Met. Is this just a human wearing a baseball head? If so, bravo on that glute workout, Mrs. Met.

With the 2023 NFL season on the not-so distant horizon, Aaron Rodgers is looking strong. However, one defender who could face the four-time MVP in the postseason is not impressed.
Rodgers will be the starting quarterback of the Jets this fall after 18 years with the Packers. His offseason ayahuasca trips are behind him and the focus is on his first year with New York.
To get in peak physical shape before training camp, he has been working closely with Proactive Sports Performance. The California-based training facility champions performance, longevity and injury prevention.

I’m marveling that the two breakout stars of Wimbledon 2023 have been a 27-year-old, 6’8″ male from Atlanta who played at Georgia Tech; and a winsome 16-year-old Russian who plays with fury but might not be able to board at Six Flags. We speak, of course, of Chris Eubanks and Mirra Andreeva. Tennis has its issues but its diversity—biodiversity, ethnic diversity, path diversity—is really something to behold. Yay, tennis.
Let’s start the column with Eubanks, as we had a number of questions about him.

If the deal between the PGA Tour and the PIF goes through, Greg Norman will not be retained as LIV Golf CEO.
According to PGA Tour Chief Operating Officer Ron Price, Greg Norman will leave his post as LIV Golf CEO should the tour’s agreement with the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) go through.
“If we reach a definitive agreement, we will not have a place for that type of position,” Price said Tuesday.

The Nyck de Vries era at AlphaTauri has come to an end, and fan-favorite, shoey-drinking Aussie Daniel Ricciardo is hopping back on the Grand Prix grid.
And with this news comes confirmation that one of my preseason predictions is wrong. Very wrong.
How much more wrong could it be? The answer is none; none more wrong.
There had been rumors for quite some time that de Vries was on thin ice. And honestly, justifiably so.
