Heading into Week 8, the NFL was already dealing with a slew of quarterback injuries.
Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill was out due to an ankle injury, opening the door for rookie Will Levis and second-year Malik Willis to get time. Daniel Jones of the Giants was set to miss his game against the Jets, with Tyrod Taylor taking over the starting job for him. The Browns were set to run with P.J. Walker under center, as Deshaun Watson’s lingering shoulder injury continued to hold him out of action.

If there’s a single word to describe Week 8 in the NFL: Chaos.
On Sunday, we saw Tommy DeVito, Brett Rypien, Taylor Heinicke and Mitchell Trubisky all playing major snaps. All but Heinicke came in because of injury.
The best performance of the early window came in Dallas, where the Cowboys pounded the Rams. Dallas took a 30-point lead in the first half and never relented, while Los Angeles now has to worry about the health of Matthew Stafford and his right thumb.

Kirk Cousins likely suffered a torn Achilles in Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers. Cousins went down on the non-contact injury at the start of the fourth quarter and skipped off the field, unable to put weight on his right leg.
Minnesota coach Kevin O’Connell said the team fears Cousins suffered a season-ending injury in Sunday’s 24-10 victory.
Expect the Vikings to quickly look to free agency or the upcoming trade deadline to salvage their 4-4 season.

Kirk Cousins has been carted to the locker room and has already been ruled out

Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins was ruled out of Week 8’s game vs. NFC North rival the Packers with an ankle injury.
Coach Kevin O’Connell told reporters that “based on the initial examination” it appears that Cousins suffered an Achilles injury, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. He is expected to undergo an MRI to get an official diagnosis.
Cousins was shuffling backwards while looking for a teammate to throw a pass to, and he appeared to injure his ankle when he planted his right foot. Therefore, this was ruled as a non-contact injury.

Each week, Tyreek Hill continues to display why he is one of the most dynamic and explosive wide receivers in the NFL.
When the Dolphins took the field at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday for their final AFC East clash against the Patriots this season, the Miami wideout built a stronger case for his goal of becoming the first player in league history to surpass 2,000 receiving yards.
During the third quarter of Sunday’s game, Hill eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards in only eight games this season, becoming the first player in the Super Bowl era to accomplish the feat.

The officiating in the Steelers vs. Jaguars game in Week 8 has drawn some major backlash on social media. Many fans have been left wondering about a number of questionable calls (or missed calls), and that’s why when a clip of Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin appearing to mouth a NSFW question to the officials, it quickly went viral.
Tomlin, visibly upset, was caught appearing to mouth something along the lines of, “what the f— is wrong with y’all today?” From the look of it, he may have even repeated the question twice potentially.

New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers desperately wants to play football again.
Rodgers appeared on the field Sunday afternoon ahead of the Jets’ intracity face-off against the New York Giants in Week 8. The 39-year-old continued showcasing his incredible recovery from his left Achilles tear.
Despite calling it a “tough” week of rehab on Pat McAfee this week, Rodgers spent considerable time in the pre-game walking the field without crutches and getting reps with stunning mobility.
