Last week there was some controversy in certain corners of the internet over the Carolina Hurricanes’ annual ‘Whalers Night.”
If you missed it, the Hurricanes threw on some phenomenal Whalers sweaters for their game against the Buffalo Sabres last week, as a way to honor the franchise’s history dating back to its time in Hartford.
Of course, the team moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in the 1990s, and that’s why some fans saw this as a slap in the face to the original Hartford Whalers and their fans.

Chatter about Brooks Koepka and a PGA Tour return continues to swirl.
The state of professional golf is extremely complicated. It has been this way for a while now.
There are two primary tours in the PGA Tour and LIV Golf and we are well past time when a union between the two of them not only seemed possible but felt inevitable.
We are actually so deep into this whole thing that player contracts are starting to reach an expiration point with LIV and that has gotten some attention.

A month ago, it felt like a potential deal between the PGA Tour and the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) – the sole funder of LIV Golf – was closer than ever before to getting across the line. A meeting at the White House with President Donald Trump and representatives from both sides, along with messaging from the Tour itself, brought a feeling of optimism about the ongoing situation for the first time.

Golf fans, movie fans in general, have been looking forward to this ever since word of the sequel officially happening broke.

A season ticket holder has filed a lawsuit against the University of Michigan after the school locked his account for re-selling all of his tickets.
Kevin Brick, owner of scalping service Maxim Tickets, has spent the last two decades purchasing tickets to Wolverines football games for the sole purpose of re-selling them. According to the lawsuit, Brick had 164 accounts in his name and donated millions of dollars to the school to reap the benefits of the Priority Points linked to preferred seating options.

One Ohio State football game in each of the last two college football seasons has exclusively streamed on Peacock, and one Ohio lawmaker is doing everything in his power to not let it happen a third time.
State Senator Bill DeMora, a Democrat from Columbus, is seeking to ban Ohio State football games from exclusively airing on a streaming platform moving forward. Not only is he looking out for Buckeye fans, but the fans of other programs around the state as well.

Tyler Lockett is now a free agent.
This is going to be the offseason of shock releases and trades, and the Seahawks wasted no time getting in on it too. On Wednesday Seattle released former All-Pro WR Tyler Lockett, who has been with the organization since 2015.
Lockett struggled in 2024 to finish with just 600 receiving yards, his lowest since 2017 — but a large part of that was a new Hawks offense that was still trying to work out how to integrate Lockett into its passing attack.

These are the freshmen ready for a star turn in the 2025 men’s NCAA tournament.
College basketball is an old man’s game now. There are fifth- and sixth-year seniors on contenders around the country thanks to this being the final “Covid year” season, which granted an extra year of eligibility to any player enrolled during the pandemic. The Auburn Tigers are perhaps the best example of why it’s beneficial to have an older roster. The No.
