The senior came up three points short of the all-time record last week.
Despite coming up short of the NCAA Division I men’s basketball scoring record held by former LSU star Pete Maravich, Detroit Mercy’s Antoine Davis may get another chance to break the record.
Davis seemingly finished his collegiate basketball career with 3,664 career points in 144 games over five seasons, while Maravich holds the record with 3,667 in 83 games over just three varsity seasons. It appeared that Davis’s name would be etched into history in second place instead of becoming the new leader.

Boston’s head coach has an interesting approach to sleep.
Joe Mazzulla has an unquestionably demanding job as head coach of the Celtics, and apparently that’s led to him finding alternative ways to ensure he gets as much sleep as possible.
On Wednesday, Mazzulla confirmed, via 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Zolak & Bertrand, that he sleeps with his mouth taped shut, something he’s been doing ever since he started coaching in the league.
The 34-year-old revealed that he began using “sleep tape” due to the emotional, physical and mental drain that comes with the lengthy NBA season.

Legalized gambling could significantly alter the company’s creative flow.
Since the 2018 Murphy v. National Collegiate Athletic Association Supreme Court decision, sports betting has grown into a massive, highly profitable enterprise across the country.
Now, even a discipline outside the traditional realm of sports wants a piece of the pie.
WWE is discussing procedures with Colorado and Michigan regulators that would enable patrons in those states to bet on the results of scripted matches, according to a Wednesday report from CNBC.

Seattle owns the No. 5 pick courtesy of the Russell Wilson trade with Denver.
It’s been nearly a year since the Seahawks traded quarterback Russell Wilson to the Broncos, drastically altering the trajectories of both franchises. Seattle found its new quarterback in Geno Smith, who was named the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year and just signed a new three-year contract worth up to $105 million. The Broncos, meanwhile, had an abysmal year and, as part of the Wilson trade, sent their 2023 first-round pick to Seattle.

DePaul pulled off the most likely win of conference tournament season so far.
The DePaul Blue Demons are in the basement of the Big East almost every season. DePaul has finished last or second-to-last in the Big East for 10 straight years, and hasn’t made the men’s NCAA tournament since 2004. DePaul had another brutal year in conference play this year, finishing 3-17 in the Big East and ahead of only Georgetown.

Boeheim retired Wednesday after spending six decades with Syracuse basketball despite numerous opportunities to leave for greener pastures.
As the victories accumulated over the years, Jim Boeheim could have had almost any job in college basketball. He only wanted one. The job he already had.
Syracuse, N.Y., isn’t for everyone, but it was Paris for Boeheim. It was Maui. It was his own Greek island. Even if paradise came with piles of snow and leaden skies, they so perfectly matched the coach’s eternally gloomy countenance.

Golden State’s star forward didn’t mince words.
The feud between the Warriors and Grizzlies continues to rage on, aided by the recent fiery comments from Dillon Brooks, in which he said he didn’t like Draymond Green “at all” and didn’t like “anything to do with” Golden State.
On Wednesday, Green clapped back at Brooks on his podcast, The Draymond Green Show, and he didn’t hold back one bit.
