Longtime NFL scout Jesse Kaye, who worked for for the Jets and Packers, died at 79 years old on Saturday. He had been in failing health since he suffered a stroke in 2016, according to Packers historian Cliff Christl.
Kaye’s career spanned 30 years, but he’s perhaps best remembered for his assessment of one undervalued quarterback in the 2000 NFL draft: Tom Brady. Kaye is one of the few scouts to have seen the potential in the Michigan signal-caller and urged the Jets to take him him despite already having selected Chad Pennington with the No. 18 pick that same draft.

It looks like Yuki fits in his pocket!
It was a rough finish to the Spanish GP for Yuki Tsunoda, but at least he got to meet a big fan.

No, this isn’t photoshopped — seriously. Yuki is the smallest driver in Formula 1 standing at 5’3, and Kristaps Porzingis is 7’3. It’s the stark continuation of a beautiful trend of Tsunoda standing next to athletes who are increasingly getting larger and larger.

It’s a normal human reaction to chase down a foul ball when one is hit in your direction at a baseball game. It doesn’t matter if you’re at a little league game, a charity game, or a major league game, people simply love foul balls. When you’re carrying a child, however, let’s start letting the foul balls go.
Every year it seems like we see a dad pull off a miraculous catch in the stands while holding a little one. Sitting down or moving a couple of feet to try and snag a foul ball is one thing, but sprinting with a child in hand simply is not the move.

Erik Spoestra can’t lose.
If you forced me to define what I think makes a good coach in this modern league, my answer would be “Rigid flexibility”. It’s a paradox that demands being able to hold two things in your head at the same time, to understand two conflicting ideas can be true. If you’re too dogmatic, you live and die by the same double-edged sword.

Speaking after the Spanish Grand Prix, Hamilton opened up about what could be a huge week
Lewis Hamilton has been driving for Mercedes since the 2013 Formula 1 season. But with his contract set to expire at the end of the 2023 campaign, speculation has grown in recent weeks about his future. There was even a report that Ferrari was set to make a shock offer for his services, hoping to lure him away from Mercedes.

The Denver Nuggets fell apart in the second half of Game 2 of the NBA Finals and lost at home (for the first time since March 30) to Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat, 111-108, on Sunday night.
The series is now locked up at a game apiece as it shifts to South Beach for the next two games.
There were some Heat fans in Denver for Game 2, and they had fun cheering on their team in the final minutes of the win.

We have a series. As if it was ever in doubt.
Above all else, the Eastern Conference Finals came down to shooting. Miami played harder and smarter than Boston, yes, but after the Celtics’ furious comeback from a three-game hole to tie the series and force a Game 7, the final game would come down to what had defined the series to that point. And sure enough, in Game 7, Boston went cold, and Miami poured it on just as they had all series. The Heat shot 14-of-28 from three while Boston made just nine of its 42 attempts.

The Bills have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with former Rams outside linebacker Leonard Floyd, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. It’s unclear how much the deal is worth at this time.
Buffalo adds yet another stout linebacker to its already-solid group of defenders—including eight-time Pro Bowler Von Miller. The two outside linebackers won Super Bowl LVI together while in Los Angeles.
Floyd, 30, appeared in all 17 games for the Rams last season and tallied nine sacks along with 59 tackles and a career-high 22 quarterback hits.

The Athlon Sports 2023 Fantasy Football Annual magazine reached out to team insiders at all 32 NFL clubs to ask them three key fantasy questions heading into the season. As we count down to training camp, Sports Illustrated will publish their answers here. Today’s team: Arizona Cardinals.

Two of the top scoring teams in the league square off Monday night, and you guessed it — we are taking the over.
The Cardinals will visit Arlington, Texas, tonight and I’m expecting offense — and so is SI Sportsbook, with the line set all the way up at 9.5 runs.
For the season, the Cardinals have scored the 10th-most runs per game (4.70) and that number has been even greater over the last month. The Cardinals have scored the fourth-most runs per game in the last 30 days (5.31).
The Rangers lead MLB in runs scored per game this season (6.48) and they have scored 6.
