The Arizona State football program announced that it will enforce a self-imposed postseason ban for the 2023 season after the program was found to have violated recruiting rules under former head coach Herm Edwards.
The NCAA investigated ASU due to the Sun Devils reportedly hosting high school prospects during the COVID-19 dead period. The investigation began in 2021 and was based off claims that former defensive coordinator Antonio Pierce “helped create a culture in which rule breaking was rewarded,” per ESPN.

Canadian figure skater Alexandra Paul has died, Skate Canada announced on Saturday. She was 31.
Paul was killed in a multi-vehicle crash just outside of Toronto earlier this week. A truck plowed through a construction zone and struck seven vehicles — including hers.
Paul’s toddler, Charlie, was in the car with her at the time of the accident. He was taken to a children’s hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Three others also sustained injuries in the crash.

How about some love for Pierre Gasly as well?
Max Verstappen has made Formula 1 history.
Despite tricky weather conditions, and a field that threw everything they could at him, the Red Bull driver secured his ninth-straight win in the Dutch Grand Prix, tying the mark set by Sebastian Vettel back in 2013.
That certainly make him one of the winners of the weekend, but who else joins him?
Winner: Pierre Gasly
Exactly what the doctor ordered for Alpine.

It was a wild rainy day on the shores of the North Sea and in the final laps of the Dutch Grand Prix, the Zandvoort circuit looked like a Slip ‘N Slide.
The race got underway, and within one lap we had drivers diving into the pits to bolt on some intermediate tires.
The track eventually dried out, but we got another batch of showers — much heavier ones — that led to full wet tires and a safety car when Alfa Romeo’s Zhou Guanyu hydroplaned into the barrier at Turn 1.
The race restarted under a safety car with the entire field on intermediates.

Raiders running back Josh Jacobs missed the entirety of the team’s offseason program and training camp while holding out for a bigger contract extension.
Jacobs and the team agreed to a one-year, $12 million contract for the current year on Saturday, meaning the running back is set to return just in time for the regular season.
However, it’s unclear what type of workload Jacobs will be able to take on right out of the gate. Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels discussed that after the team’s final preseason game.

When the news dropped Saturday that the Cowboys were acquiring quarterback Trey Lance from the 49ers, fans began wondering what current Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott’s reaction would be.
Prescott spoke with ESPN’s Todd Archer and sounded relatively positive about the team bringing in the former first round pick.
“I mean obviously understand it’s a business,” Prescott said,. “That’s a first-round talent and you’re always trying to make your team better.

Aaron Rodgers made his Jets debut on Saturday when he suited up for the team’s final preseason game vs. the Giants.
In the two drives that he played in, the quarterback finished going 5-for-8 for 47 yards, along with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson.
After the game, Rodgers admitted he had “butterflies” before playing in his first Jets game.
“I had some butterflies for sure. I think that’s always normal,” Rodgers said, via the Jets.

The goals for Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets on Saturday night were as simple as getting in the game, scoring a touchdown, and getting out without getting hurt.
Mission accomplished.
“It was a good night,” Rodgers told reporters after the team’s preseason finale against the New York Giants.

But, if you believe Rodgers, it was better than good.

Can anyone catch Red Bull at the front?
Over the course of the last eight Formula 1 races, Max Verstappen has found a way to guide his RB19 to the front of the field.
If he does that again on Sunday, he will join an extremely elite club.
With a win in the Dutch Grand Prix Verstappen will notch his ninth-straight victory, matching the mark set by Sebastian Vettel back in 2013 that currently stands as the longest winning streak for a driver in F1 history.
