Another major championship is here, which means seeing what golf brands come up with for golf bags and limited-edition merchandise. After such an epic release for the PGA Championship, these three brands took it one step further with the U.S. Open.

Three months after college basketball’s transfer portal window opened, player movement has finally slowed down. The final wave of portal activity, mostly with players who returned to school after testing the NBA draft waters, is largely over, which makes it a good time to take stock in the offseason as a whole. With transfers likely to score more than 50% of all points in college basketball this season for the first time, how a team does in the portal is now arguably more important than the high school recruiting class rankings, which are analyzed at length every offseason.
For as graceful and agile as she is on the pitch, Naomi Girma is surprisingly clumsy as she grips the foreign object she’s just been handed. She turns it over in her palms and stares at it. “So I just roll it and go?” she asks uncertainly.
Forward Sophia Smith grabs it and tries to help. “You have to scroll it,” she says, pointing.
A crowd gathers as Girma continues to struggle. “She was born in the 2000s,” someone says.

Longtime ESPN star, Scott Van Pelt, has helmed the midnight edition of SportsCenter since 2015. As he comes up on 10 years as the show’s solo anchor, it sounds like Van Pelt is ready for something else.
During an appearance on this week’s SI Media With Jimmy Traina, the 56-year-old Emmy winner said he does not see himself hosting the show on a full-time basis for many more years.
“I’ve been doing this a long time where, look, I don’t want to do that forever,” Van Pelt said.
Washington Nationals manager Dave Martinez showed up to his postgame press conference on Wednesday night following his team’s loss to the Houston Astros with receipts, literally.
The Astros knocked off the Nats 5-4 on Wednesday in rather controversial fashion as the game ended on an error courtesy of Washington catcher Keibert Ruiz.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning, Astros batter Jake Meyers grounded a ball to shortstop C.J. Abrams, who threw it home for the second out.

F1 heads to Montreal for the 2023 Canadian Grand Prix
Formula 1 is back in North America this weekend, for the 2023 Canadian Grand Prix.
The major storyline in F1 remains Max Verstappen, as the Red Bull driver has won five of seven races this year, and is seeking his fourth-straight F1 victory. Montreal’s Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve has been kind to Verstappen in the past, as the Red Bull driver secured victory here a season ago.
This is also a home race for Lance Stroll of Aston Martin.
There’s value in the over on Thursday night when the Dodgers host the White Sox in Los Angeles.
This is the third of the three-game series, which is tied 1-1. On Tuesday, the Dodgers won and the total went under when Tony Gonsolin got the start. Last night, the White Sox prevailed and got the best of Clayton Kershaw, winning 8-4 and rewarding handsomely those who took them on the moneyline.
Dylan Cease gets the start for Chicago, and after finishing as the runner-up for the AL Cy Young last season, Cease has been uneven this year. His ERA is at 4.
Former New York Giants receiver Homer Jones has passed away.
Jones died Wednesday at the age of 82 after battling lung cancer, according to the New York Post. Jones is credited with being the first player in NFL history to spike the football after a touchdown in league history when he did it in a 1965 game.
That’s a trend that has stuck around for a very long time and won’t ever go away.
