Taylor Swift’s Eras tour has made its stop at the New York area this week, as she is playing three straight shows at MetLife Stadium over the weekend. As a result, both the Jets and Giants have been displaying their Swift content in preparation.
The Jets decided to ask their players for their favorite Swift songs and while most of them had an answer ready to go, or couldn’t name a single song, quarterback Aaron Rodgers had trouble deciding.
“Too many, too many to count,” he said.

Padres right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. has enjoyed being back in baseball this season after incurring an 80-game suspension for PED use on Aug. 12, 2022.
On April 26—six games into his return—Cubs fans greeted Tatis Jr. with chants of “He’s on steroids” from the Wrigley Field bleachers, to which Tatis Jr. responded with a goofy dance. The next night, he went 2-for-5 with three RBIs in a 5–3 Padres win.
The Tatis Jr. comeback tour continued Friday night, when San Diego opened a three-game series against the Yankees in New York.

Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames spent the night in the hospital after taking a foul ball to the side of the head Friday.
But the prognosis is a good one.
“He was alert and responsive as he left, and then we got pretty good news at the hospital, too,” Brewers manager Craig Counsell said. “Obviously, he’s in pain. But I think overall I think not bad news, considering how scary it was.”
Adames suffered no fractures but remained at the hospital overnight for observation, according to Counsell.

10-time NBA all-star Carmelo Anthony announced his retirement from professional basketball earlier this week, but didn’t come without interest in him returning to the hardwood.
NBA insider Marc Stein reported on his Substack that the 38-year-old Anthony received interest in Europe, but would not return to play unless it was for another NBA opportunity.
“League sources say Carmelo Anthony did receive some top-level European interest this season, but decided that he wasn’t going to play anywhere else unless the offer came from the NBA,” Stein wrote.

Two boys who qualified for women’s events at the California State Track and Field Championships opted not to compete in the preliminaries Friday.
Athena Ryan, from Sonoma Academy, and Lorelei Barrett of Sherman Oaks Buckley, no-showed the women’s 1600-meter run — just one week after robbing those spots from biological girls.
Last week, OutKick reported on Ryan, who won second place at the state-qualifying meet with a time of 4:55:91. He would have finished last in the men’s race.
Similarly, Barrett finished third in his qualifying race with a time of 4:49:66.

John Madden is one of the most influential figures in the history of the NFL, and now he is getting his own feature film. Deadline’s Matt Grobar reports movie star Will Ferrell is in talks to play Madden in a new movie titled Madden.
Madden will be produced by Amazon and MGM and is expected to tell the story of John Madden throughout his NFL career, from coach to broadcaster to video game namesake. Giants co-owner Steve Tisch is expected to be an executive producer on the film.

Angel Mercado, a 19-year-old freshman at Division II Central Penn College, died earlier this week when he was struck in the face trying to dismantle a makeshift dugout, according to the Associated Press.
Mercado was a middle infielder playing in a summer recreation league that played its games at a park in Harrisburg, Pa. Mercado’s coach had constructed a makeshift dugout out of wood on Sunday, but the city told him that it wasn’t allowed. Mercado was one of several players helping to take down the structure when it unexpectedly collapsed and struck him in the face.

Ray Allen III, the son of two-time NBA champion and Basketball Hall of Famer Ray Allen, has committed to play basketball at Rhode Island, according to a report from Rhode Island color analyst Chris DiSano.
Allen III will be joining the program as a preferred walk-on, and will play for assistant coach Duane Woodward, who played against Allen III’s father during their Big East days, according to Adam Zagoria. Woodward played at Boston College from 1994 to ’98, while Allen was at UConn. Former Dayton and Indiana coach Archie Miller is entering his second year as URI’s head coach.
