You’ve heard of the “Drake Curse,” but how about the Jill Biden Curse?
The Philadelphia 76ers swept the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. And if you ask former MLB star Lenny Dykstra, it’s because Jill Biden wasn’t in the building.
“Congratulations to the @sixers on sweeping the Nets in the first round,” Dykstra tweeted. “Hopefully it won’t get all f-cked up in the Finals, like with the Phillies and Eagles, by the curse of DOCTOR Jill Biden showing up.”

Congratulations to the @sixers on sweeping the Nets in the first round.

Nick Saban is in a position that he has not faced since 2016. Alabama does not have a clear-cut starting quarterback.
It was Jalen Hurts, then Tua Tagovailoa, then Mac Jones, then Bryce Young. Now, in 2023, it will be either Ty Simpson or Jalen Milroe — or neither!
There have been a lot of rumblings about what that position might look like come fall camp. Specifically, there have been reports that the Crimson Tide may have interest in Tyler Van Dyke.
Miami appeared to shut down those rumors on Thursday night, but the murmurs continue.

In the 3-2 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 3, Ryan O’Reilly justified every bit of Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas’ decision to bring the 32-year-old to Toronto at the NHL trade deadline. The veteran forward scoring a late tying goal and then won the draw in overtime that set Morgan Rielly up for the game winner.

In Game 3 of the Lakers–Grizzlies series, LeBron James’s team came out on fire, opening up a 35-9 first quarter lead. It appeared as though Los Angeles was playing with some extra motivation after Memphis forward Dillon Brooks called out James following the Grizzlies’ Game 2 win.
The Lakers ultimately won Game 3, 111-101, as James dropped 25 points with nine rebounds and five assists. Brooks, meanwhile, was ejected from the game after he appeared to hit James in the groin in the third quarter.

Rangers outfielder Adolis García mashes three homers in the first five innings against the A’s
It was a rather magical night for Adolis García and the Texas Rangers against the Oakland A’s on Saturday.
A night that put the Rangers outfielder into rather rarefied air in MLB history.
García went 5-for-5 at the plate, mashing three home runs — all of which came within the first five innings — and a pair of doubles as the Rangers throttled the A’s by a final score of 18 to 3.

Jorge Masvidal isn’t afraid to praise America and God very publicly.
Masvidal retired after his final bout at UFC 287, and he spent his final moments in the octagon praising Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump.
“We’ve also got the greatest governor of all time here in Florida. Let’s keep Florida free, a red state,” Masvidal declared to the crowd in Miami earlier in April after also praising Donald Trump, who was in attendance.
Now, he’s continuing to make clear he has nothing but love for the country that welcomed his father with open arms.

The Athletics’ decision to buy land near the Las Vegas Strip for a potential move from Oakland has drawn all kinds of criticism across the sports industry. Even Raiders owner Mark Davis, who oversaw that team’s own move from the Bay Area to Las Vegas, disagreed with the decision.
The latest to criticize Oakland’s potential relocation is hall of famer Reggie Jackson, who played for the A’s from 1968 to ’75. The former outfielder believes city officials should’ve tried harder to retain the MLB franchise, considering the municipality’s recent track record.

Third-ranked Virginia lacrosse moved to 9-3 with a four-goal win over No. 13 Syracuse on Saturday and did so while turning back the clock. As one of the most historic programs in the sport, there is a lot of inspiration to be drawn from the past.
That history was on full display as the Hoos hosted the Orange while wearing some slick throwback kits.

They’re simple, clean and classic.

The Blue Jays and Yankees seemingly have amped up their rivalry in recent years as the two sides battle for positioning in the AL East. That friction has been heightened by Toronto starter Alek Manoah, who openly has labeled New York ace Gerrit Cole as the biggest cheater in baseball history.
On Saturday, Cole and Manoah faced off in the Bronx, and Manoah appeared to try to get into Cole’s head by walking back to the dugout from the bullpen late, which delayed the start of the game.
