The struggling Arizona Diamondbacks acquired closer Paul Sewald from the Seattle Mariners on Monday, hoping to shore up a bullpen that has faltered over the past month and taken Arizona from leading the NL West to out of a playoff spot.

LAS VEGAS — Terence Crawford describes himself as an overachiever. He’s not physically imposing. He lacks the allure, the promotional and verbal skills, of the greats before him. But he has called himself the best in the world for years. Boxing enthusiasts agreed periodically. Casual fans didn’t care enough about him to debate his standing.
But last Saturday, in what was dubbed the most prolific bout since Mayweather-Pacquiao in 2015, he proved he was, in fact, the best in the world.

Believe it or not, John Bol has no relation to Manute Bol or Bol Bol. The four-star prospect in the college basketball recruiting Class of 2024 hails from the same country, South Sudan, and has the same last name, but has no direct ties to the famous NBA family.
Bol, who stands 7-foot-2, 190 pounds, is a top-30 recruit and the No. 4-ranked player at his position. He plays center, obviously. Although his height is the first thing that catches your eye, he can move much better than you would expect from a big man.

Max Homa gave some respect to J.T. Poston after he put more than a quarter million dollars at risk at the 3M Open.
J.T. Poston had a very minor chance at tying Lee Hodges Sunday at the 3M Open. Instead, his 72nd-hole gamble turned into a triple bogey and cost him more than a quarter million dollars.
A lot of people might criticize Poston’s decision on 18, but not fan favorite Max Homa.
“Can’t respect the play more,” Homa tweeted. “Good on you, boys.” Homa quote-tweeted CBS Sports’ Kyle Porter, who pointed out the massive difference.
