One of the hardest things a pitcher is asked to do is to field their position. There aren’t many routine defensive plays for a pitcher. They face everything from hard liners hit right back at them to dribblers into no man’s land—with the added challenge of having to run off of the mound to field them. It can be really tricky, and sometimes they have to get creative—like Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal did on Sunday.
In the second inning of Detroit’s game against the Marlins, Skubal got Jon Berti to hit a weak grounder along the first base line.

Only one player in college football history has ever won the Heisman Trophy twice.
Ohio State running back Archie Griffin did so in 1974 and again in ‘75. USC quarterback Caleb Williams, the defending Heisman winner and current betting favorite for 2023, could join Griffin in that exclusive club this year.
The Trojans’ signal-caller has been well ahead of the pack since spring football was being played. As the season draws near, we’re seeing which players are in line to compete with Williams for the honor.
ONE Championship is returning to the United States.
In 2024, ONE will host four events in America. Its inaugural visit for ONE Fight Night 10 this past May in Colorado was a success, prompting ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong to roll out the next piece of his global plan for expansion.
“We’re excited to hold these events once a quarter in 2024,” says Sityodtong. “There’s so much demand for ONE in the U.S. Our first event, we sold out several weeks in advance. We want to expand into the U.S. with quality. That’s why we aren’t doing 12 next year. We’re doing it with thought and care.
Lee Hodges going wire-to-wire and winning the 3M Open by seven shots was incredibly impressive but didn’t exactly make for the most exciting weekend on the PGA Tour. Thankfully, Phil Mickelson provided some drama by jumping on the ol’ Twitter machine and firing off a truly ridiculous take regarding LIV Golf and its future.
On top of that, we’ve reached the final week of the PGA Tour’s regular season. With plenty of players looking to sneak inside the Top 70 in the FedEx Cup standings to get into the playoffs, no player is under more pressure to do so than Justin Thomas.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish revealed a new all green uniform on Monday morning ahead of the 2023 college football season.
The uniform includes a green jersey with gold detailing, green pants, green shoes with gold cleats and a gold helmet. Notre Dame has showcased other green jerseys in the past, but the big difference this time is the addition of the green pants.
The new uniforms will be seen on a national stage when Notre Dame wears them for the first time on Saturday, Sept. 23 when they host Ohio State.
Kelly green is back, and Eagles fans are excited.
After Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry revealed two amazing stories about playing against Kobe Bryant on Hot Ones with Sean Evans, video of the two former MVPs facing off early in Curry’s career is going viral.
Respect from Bryant is one of the biggest possible badges of honor for players of Curry’s generation, and the now-legendary shooter did admit to being a bit starstruck by facing Bryant in the first few seasons of his career.

The hit took Harrison Jr. out of the game, one Georgia would ultimately win
A critical turning point of the 2022 Peach Bowl College Football Playoff Semifinal between the Georgia Bulldogs and Ohio State Buckeyes was when star wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. was knocked out of the game on a hit that was flagged as targeting, but then overturned. Harrison Jr. wouldn’t return to the game, and the Bulldogs would win the game 42-41 en route to another national championship.
Javon Bullard was not called for targeting after this hit on Marvin Harrison Jr.

Irsay has become the Colts’ biggest headache.
At a time where Colts fans should be excited about seeing a new era take shape, owner Jim Irsay seems hellbent on ruining everything.
Irsay injected himself into the running back pay discussion last week by taking to Twitter to essentially say “tough luck” to the players who want to see change in the NFL to better compensate their position amid the collapse of RB compensation.
