One of the biggest viral moments on Day 2 of the 2023 NFL draft belonged to Keion White, who remained remarkably stoic after he learned that the Patriots had selected him in the second round. Although most players get emotional over this life-changing moment, White kept his cool as TV coverage showed his draft party.
When asked about this moment, White explained that he is just a calm person in general.
“I don’t know if y’all seen on TV, but I’m a pretty chill person,” White said, via CBS Boston. “So I’m not very like explosive in excitement in any form.

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are battling the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 6 of their first-round series Friday night in Los Angeles, and there’s a special fan sitting in his familiar courtside seat—Jack Nicholson.
The acting legend and longtime Lakers fan, who is now 86 years old, hasn’t been seen at a game—or anywhere, really—since he attended the team’s home opener last season.
But there he was before tipoff, making his way to the seats he’s had for so many years and shaking hands with people standing around him.

We have made it to the end.
Or at least, the beginning of the end.
The final day of the 2023 NFL Draft is upon us. After 31 prospects had their football dreams realized on Thursday night, 71 more players joined them in the professional ranks. We saw the slide end for Will Levis, Joey Porter Jr. follow in his father’s footsteps to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Hendon Hooker come off the board to the Detroit Lions.

The first three rounds of the 2023 NFL draft are officially in the rearview mirror, and despite the fact that we’ve already seen more than 100 players come off the board, there’s still plenty of top talent available heading into the final day of this year’s event.
These last few rounds are critical for NFL teams as they try to fill out the bottoms of their rosters with high-upside players who can develop into impact players down the line, as well as new additions who can help out immediately on special teams.

The Texas Rangers signed Jacob deGrom to a massive, $185 million contract over the offseason to anchor their rotation.
It was an entirely justifiable contract based on deGrom’s past performance, as his statistics from 2018-2021 were awe-inspiring. When he was on the field.
His highest ERA during those years was 2.43, with an astonishing 9 WAR for the 2018 New York Mets.
deGrom then put together a dominant 1.08 ERA over 15 starts in 2021. But after early July, he missed the rest of the season. And his recovery pushed into 2022, as he was able to make just 11 starts for New York.

As Day 2 of the NFL draft winds down, the biggest name that fell was Georgia’s Darnell Washington. The Steelers selected Washington with pick No. 93 well after he was expected to go.
The 6’ 7”, 264-pound tight end entered the day as one of the best players available after Round 1, but he lasted deep into the third round. He will now join his former Georgia teammate Broderick Jones in Pittsburgh.
According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC-TV in Houston, teams had high grades on Washington, but the 21 year-old is dealing with a knee injury that contributed to his fall.

Have you ever watched an entertainment awards show—the Academy Awards for instance—and heard the orchestra attempt to play a long-winded winner off the stage?
As it turns out, it can happen in sports, too.
Former Titans, Browns, Patriots and Dolphins defensive back Jason McCourty took aim at the Chiefs from multiple angles in a comically long-winded draft pick announcement Friday night. After nearly 90 seconds of real time, he finally announced Tennessee’s pick: Tulane running back Tyjae Spears.

KANSAS CITY — The NFL invited 17 prospects to the NFL draft with the expectation all would be picked in the first round, walk across the stage, hug commissioner Roger Goodell, and make a memory of a lifetime in one grand evening.
Except Will Levis wasn’t picked in the first round.
And Joey Porter Jr. wasn’t picked in the first round.
Keion White wasn’t picked in the first round.
And Brian Branch wasn’t picked in the first round.
