It has been five years since a man deliberately drove a van down a bustling sidewalk in north Toronto, committing one of the country’s worst mass murders. Ten people died in the van attack in April 2018 and another died from her injuries more than three years later. Here’s a look at the lives that were lost, based on interviews with family and friends and victim impact statements filed in court.

Toronto residents and public officials are expected to gather in a north-end community today to mark the fifth anniversary of the city’s devastating van attack. Ten people were killed and 16 others were injured when a man deliberately drove a rental van down a busy sidewalk on a stretch of Toronto’s Yonge Street on April 23, 2018. The attack, which stunned the city, was one of Canada’s worst mass murders.

Social media exploded on Saturday night following the ejection of Grizzlies wing Dillon Brooks in the third quarter of Game 3 against the Lakers.
One game after Brooks became the center of attention for calling LeBron James  ‘old’, the outspoken forward was tossed for striking James in the groin. The play was deemed a flagrant 2 foul by officials, resulting in an ejection.
The sixth-year guard finished with seven points on 3-of-13 shooting in 19 minutes.

Not bad for a 38-year-old.
LeBron James hasn’t been the consensus pick as the best basketball player in the world for a few years at this point. That title probably belongs to Giannis Antetokounmpo, but Nikola Jokic, Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid, and Kevin Durant can feel like they deserve it on any given night. At 38 years old, James is on the downside of his career, but he’s spent most of his 20th season reminding us how great he can still be.
