In Trae Young’s first postseason experience two years ago, the point guard exploded onto the NBA scene, leading the Hawks to the Eastern Conference finals. However, Young has not been nearly as effective lately in the playoffs as he was in his first two series against the Knicks and 76ers.
On Saturday, in Game 1 of Atlanta’s first-round series against Boston, Young shot 5-of-18 from the field and 1-of-5 from three-point range for just 16 points.

Virginia running back Mike Hollins was playing with a heavy heart on Saturday, along with the rest of his teammates. Just five months ago, Hollins survived a gun shot wound to the stomach during a tragic incident that took the lives of three teammates.
The Cavaliers paid tribute to D’Sean Perry, Lavel Davis and Devin Chandler before the game with a moment of silence. The end-zone was painted with their names, making the touchdown that would come later in the game a fitting way to remember the trio.

Sometimes people in lofty positions in politics, business, or sports hear themselves and read themselves quoted so much that they tend to to think they’re smarter than they are.
I call this institutional spin. A president or a senator, or a magnate like Logan Roy, or an athletic director, or a team president and the like get used to their words making news and big headlines. And they realize, they can shape the news and advance their narrative or agenda by what they say – whether accurate or not.

It was a rough night for Chris Ray Gun, and a female referee got caught in the crossfire.
The YouTube star punched the referee in the back of the head during Saturday night’s Creator Clash 2. She had intervened in the fight to help Chris, who was being pummeled by William Haynes.
Apparently, he didn’t get the memo that smashing women’s skulls is only OK if you identify as one.
Haynes — with a considerable size advantage over Chris Ray Gun — landed a series of powerful shots. Chris had nothing in response.

Many college football programs held their spring games this weekend, giving fans a glimpse at what teams will look like in the fall. For Virginia, though, the spring game was a much more emotional affair, especially for running back Mike Hollins.
Hollins, who was injured in November during a shooting that killed three Cavaliers players, got the first touch of the game.
Later in the game, Hollins scored a goal line touchdown and celebrated by putting the football on D’Sean Perry’s name in the back of the end zone. Perry, Lavel Davis Jr.

An NBA playoff series isn’t won or lost after Game 1 alone, but the Kings illustrated they aren’t going to be a pushover, even if they lack big-stage experience, in their dramatic 126–123 victory against Golden State on Saturday night.
It was Sacramento’s first playoff game since April 2006, a little more than a year before the first iPhone hit the market.

2023 NFL Draft prospect Devon Witherspoon was a dominant cornerback at Illinois
Illinois possessed the nation’s number one scoring defense in 2022, and the emergence of cornerback Devon Witherspoon was a big reason why. Earning an incredible 92.0 PFF grade, Witherspoon was dominant in coverage last season, allowing only 22 receptions despite being targeted 63 times. He allowed zero touchdowns the entire season, while also recording 3 interceptions and 14 passes defended.

Ohio State fans showed up in impressive fashion Saturday for the team’s spring game.
The Buckeyes are ushering a new era with C.J. Stroud gone for the NFL and Kyle McCord the presumed frontrunner to open the season as QB1 in Columbus. Well, fans showed up in force to get an early look at the 2023 Ohio State Buckeyes.
The game was attended by more than 75,000 fans, according to Dave Biddle, and it wasn’t free. Tickets ranged from $7 to $30.
