Scary moment Wednesday in Minnesota where Twins shortstop Kyle Farmer took a fastball right in the face. Chicago White Sox hurler Lucas Giolito hit Farmer up high with a 92-mile-per-hour pitch.
Immediately, Giolito reacts by throwing his hand up to his head. Clearly, he did not intend to throw the pitch at Farmer. Instead, it looks like it probably slipped out of his hand.
Farmer hits the ground and immediately White Sox catcher Seby Zavala calls for help.
The video is below, but I wouldn’t blame you if you chose not to watch.

Absolutely terrifying moment.

Former Stars wing Raymond Sawada died at 38 years old Monday while playing a game of hockey, his family announced via a GoFundMe page created to honor his memory and help his family. He is survived by his wife, Nicole, and their daughters, Victoria, 9, and Charlotte, 6.
“It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the sudden passing of Ray Sawada,” the GoFundMe page read. “At age 38, Ray passed away on the evening of Monday April 10, 2023, while playing the game he loved.”
The family did not share the cause of death.

A bat boy who went viral during the Yankees–Guardians series this week due to his long hair actually has a specific reason for keeping his locks.
Being a bat boy is just a part-time gig for Nate Rosenhaus, as he also plays the drums for his band, The Open Doors, hence his hairstyle.
Without knowing this, Yankees play-by-play announcer Michael Kay criticized Rosenhaus on air for not following the team’s longstanding strict policy on long hair. However, Rosenhaus is employed by the Guardians but worked as a visitor’s clubhouse assistant for the Yankees.

The Minnesota Twins‘ 3-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox may have come at a costly price after two key starters went down with injuries.
With the Twins up 1-0 in the seventh inning, star outfielder Byron Buxton collided with White Sox infielder Lenyn Sosa as he attempted to reach second base on a slow infield grounder hit by Nick Gordon.
Sosa, trying to field the ball, ran directly into the path of Buxton. The violent collision sent Buxton flipping up and over Sosa—resulting with Buxton landing on his head.

Gatlin Bair may be the fastest high school football player in the country, but there is an interesting caveat to his recruitment and NIL is involved. The Class of 2024 recruit is actually part of the Class of 2026.
Bair, a four-star prospect from a town of 11,000 in Idaho, has offers from more than 25 programs. Boise State, Michigan, Nebraska, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Oregon, Texas, BYU and Utah are among them.
Not only is he a talent on the gridiron, Bair is amongst the fastest high schoolers in the country. He ran a 10.

Former NHLer Raymond Sawada has died at the age of 38 after reportedly suffering a heart attack during a rec-league hockey game.
According to a GoFundMe account set up to raise money for his family, Sawada was playing for his rec-league team, the Richmond Cowboys, on Monday evening. The Vancouver Sun reports that the former Dallas Star died after suffering a heart attack.
“They were having an Easter dinner combination with his daughter’s birthday,” family friend and president of the Richmond Sockeyes, the local Junior-B hockey club.
