Some teams get hot and surge into the NBA’s play-in tournament. The Timberwolves are doing the opposite.
Minnesota center Rudy Gobert appeared to take a swing at forward Kyle Anderson on the Timberwolves’ bench Sunday afternoon, adding to a frustrating 2023 for a Minnesota team struggling to follow up its ’22 success.

Patrick Reed is very, very unlikeable. Even before his move to the LIV Tour, golf fans despised the 2018 Masters champion.
He’s a known cheater who’s undeservedly smug and extremely cocky. Even his own family hates him.
But still, when long putts go down at The Masters, people cheer. Patrons sit around for hours and wait for big things to happen. In fact, the crowd is so loud it sometimes hurts the TV coverage.
Why? Because there’s nothing worse than when the broadcast is showing one players and massive roar comes from somewhere else on the golf course.
Rudy Gobert was sent home after the incident.
The Minnesota Timberwolves vs. New Orleans Pelicans game on the last day of the regular season was set to determine the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference standings. Both teams were going to the NBA play-in tournament regardless, but the No. 8 seed gets two chances to make the NBA playoffs, while the No. 9 seed needs to win consecutive elimination games to make the playoff bracket.
Midway through the second quarter, Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert was sent home by the team after throwing a punch at teammate Kyle Anderson.
Things got a bit heated in the sixth inning of Sunday’s game between the Pirates and White Sox after Pittsburgh shortstop Oneil Cruz suffered an injury following a collision with Chicago catcher Seby Zavala. Cruz was called out on the play and stayed on the ground in pain, eventually coming out of the game.
While he was being tended to by a trainer, Zavala exchanged words with Pirates first baseman Carlos Santana. Eventually, both benches and bullpens cleared, with the two sides coming together near where Cruz was on the ground.

The team is reportedly expected to have a list of eight candidates for the job.
