A Mississippi judge has denied Brett Favre’s motion to dismiss the civil lawsuit he finds himself in the middle of. The former NFL quarterback will remain a defendant in the suit involving state welfare funds.
Around $77 million in federal welfare funds intended for low-income Mississippi residents was spent over the last several years on various projects supported by “wealthy or well-connected people,” according to state prosecutors.

Here’s why the Dolphins had to give up their first round draft pick this year.
There’s little doubt that the Miami Dolphins are on the precipice of greatness. A 9-8 finish in 2022 gave them a Wild Card berth, and their narrow loss to the Bills in the playoffs could have looked a lot different if Tua Tagovailoa was able to play. This team’s mission now is to keep pouring gas on the fire.
That involves making smart draft picks. Alas, the Dolphins don’t have a first-round pick in 2023, with the team being forced to surrender the No.

Our college football experts looked at the wide receiver draft class and ranked them.
With the pre-draft process complete, today we will be ranking and analyzing the top fifteen wide receivers in the 2023 NFL draft. These rankings are based off a vote that was taken amongst some of SB Nation’s community draft analysts. These rankings are not a reflection of any one person’s rankings, but rather a consensus of multiple opinions.

Welcome to my one and only 2023 mock draft. I’m not saying that to lay this down with any sort of authority, like I’m handing over some sort of sacred tome. I’m saying it more like I’m relieved I only had to go through this once, unlike the mockers who tinker with different versions throughout draft season.
The reason why this mock (possibly? probably?) stinks so much is that the quarterbacks will absolutely dismantle everyone’s board and we’re not sure where they are going to land.

All hell broke loose at the ballpark during a recent game between the Clearwater Threshers and the Tampa Tarpons.
Threshers player Erick Brito was hit by a pitch Sunday, and that started a sequence of events between the Single-A teams that needs to be seen to be believed. His manager Marty Malloy came down to argue about the situation, and eventually threw a punch at the Tarpons pitching coach, according to WFAN.
From there, the dance was one, the dugouts cleared and it was an all-out melee. You can check out the absurd carnage below.

Brock Purdy apparently surprised at least one member of the Seattle Seahawks with his athleticism.
The San Francisco 49ers QB was a fun story to follow during his rookie campaign. After injuries to Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo, the former Iowa State star was pressed into the starting role. Despite being the last pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, Purdy played at a high enough level to win every single season start and get the 49ers one win away from appearing in the Super Bowl.
Well, you can add an unnamed 49ers LB who was surprised by Purdy’s level of play.

The Detroit Lions might be trying to move one of the team’s two first round picks.
The Lions hold the sixth (via the Rams) and 18th picks in the first round of the NFL Draft this Thursday night.
After a surprisingly successful 9-8 season in Dan Campbell’s second year, the Lions now have the chance to add two great pieces, especially with the sixth overall pick.
However, the Lions might only end up drafting once Thursday night.
Detroit is reportedly kicking the tires on trading out of the 18th spot.
