With the future of Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson thoroughly up in the air as the NFL draft approaches, all eyes are on Baltimore with the most important position on the field remaining uncertain.
The Ravens used the non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson, which would pay the quarterback in excess of $34 million this season if he signed his tender. He has not signed it as he seeks an extension, and no team has been willing to tender an offer sheet to Jackson due to the steep price of two first-round picks that would have to go back to Baltimore if Jackson ended up elsewhere.

Minor League Baseball catcher Antonio Gomez got confused on Tuesday night and it cost his team a run. The series of unfortunate events didn’t end up making a difference in the final score, but it was a bizarre sequence that rarely, if ever, occurs.
It all went down between the Greenville Drive and Hudson Valley Renegades. The former is the High-A, South Atlantic League Minor League Baseball affiliate for the Red Sox, the latter is the same for the Yankees. So both sides got a taste of the rivalry.

Meyers Leonard wants people to know he definitely WAS NOT cheering for the Miami Heat during the NBA playoffs.
Leonard, who once was a member of the Heat, plays reserve minutes for the Bucks, and during game four of the playoff series against the Heat, it appeared like he celebrated after Miami hit a three.
The video definitely doesn’t look good. You can see Leonard stand up and flash his arms resembling what guys do after drilling a triple.
However, he said it’s all a huge misunderstanding.

1. Since Dillon Brooks thought it was a good idea to say that he doesn’t worry about LeBron James and that LeBron James was old, the Lakers have won two straight games against the Grizzlies to take a 3–1 series lead.
Brooks was awful in both of those losses, scoring a total of 18 points in those two games on 7-of-24 shooting.
Meanwhile, the 38-year-old James had 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in one of those games and 22 points, 20 rebounds and 7 assists in the other.
As if Brooks didn’t embarrass himself enough, he refused to speak to the media after both Memphis losses.

What the heck is this?
Calling mock drafting an “imprecise science” is a disservice to scientists. It’s more like throwing a bucket of darts at a board like you’re a human shotgun, then preening when four of them manage to stick. That said, all mock drafts should contain some sort of basic internal logic — alternatively you can be like Cris Collinsworth.
Collinsworth appeared on the Pro Football Focus pre-draft show on Tuesday and dropped one of the wildest mock drafts of the season.

The Lions have the No. 6 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, which they received along with Jared Goff via the Rams in the Matthew Stafford trade two years ago. They also own pick 18, meaning they get to select twice in the first round. In total, the Lions have nine picks for the 2023 draft.
But, who will they take first?
Oddsmakers believe a cornerback will go to Detroit according to the -125 odds, with a defensive lineman also being a likely choice at +125.

After missing the final three games of the Clippers‘ first-round playoff series against the Suns, Kawhi Leonard has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his right knee, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports.
The serious injury marks just the latest complication for the star forward, who returned to action this year after missing the entirety of the 2021–22 season while recovering from a partial ACL tear. He played in just 52 games during the regular season, but helped power L.A. to the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference.

The Eagles have the 10th overall selection in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, the result of a trade with the Saints last April. In that deal, general manager Howie Roseman traded the No. 16 and No. 19 picks in 2022 and a sixth-rounder in 2022 for the No. 18 pick in 2022, a third and seventh-rounder in 2022, the Saints first-rounder in 2023 and second-rounder in 2024. In hindsight, it looks like Roseman got the best of the Saints in that deal.
Coming off a trip to the Super Bowl, the Eagles don’t have a ton of needs on their roster.

Padres star right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. made his long-awaited return to Major League Baseball last week after serving an 80-game suspension for using performance-enhancing drugs.
The 22-year-old Tatis, who missed the entire 2022 season, has had a slow start in his return, collecting just five hits in 22 at-bats through five games.
San Diego kicked off a series with the Cubs at Wrigley Field on Tuesday night and the fans in the bleachers had fun taunting Tatis with steroid chants that could be heard on the broadcast.
