Suzy Kolber’s impressive run at ESPN sadly came to an end Friday when she announced on Twitter that she had been a part of the latest round of layoffs that are taking place at the sports network.
Kolber spent 27 years at ESPN and was well-known for all of the NFL coverage she handled during those years, including most recently being the host of Monday Night Countdown.
A number of well-known names have been let go by ESPN on Friday, including lead NBA analyst Jeff Van Gundy, which was stunning news for basketball fans.

Stamp Fairtex is seeking to become ONE Championship’s first three-sport world champion.
Fairtex is fighting Seo Hee Ham at ONE Fight Night 14 this September in a bout for the interim atomweight world title. This marks her second attempt at the history-making endeavor. The first was thwarted by Angela Lee, but the bout against Ham now stands out as a golden second opportunity.
“Maybe I’m crazy to fight in all three sports,” says Fairtex, who already won ONE world titles in atomweight kickboxing and Muay Thai. “That is my dream. And I won’t stop until I get it.

Kolber made the announcement on her Twitter page Friday.

Today I join the many hard-working colleagues who have been laid off.

It’s been over three weeks since plans for the merger between the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF) were shockingly announced. We still basically have no idea what this new joint force in professional golf is going to look like.
PGA Tour Player and Policy Board Member Peter Malnati says players may be ‘Rewarded’ with equity share for remaining loyal to the Tour.
Outside of a six-page leaked document outlining the framework of the potential merger, details are scarce. The questions far outnumber answers.

Don’t expect to see Natasha Cloud lighting off fireworks this weekend.
The Washington Mystics guard went on a Twitter tirade Friday about her disdain for the United States.
“Our country is trash in so many ways and instead of using our resources to make it better we continue to oppress Marginalized groups that we have targeted since the beginning of times,” Cloud tweeted.
“Black/brown communities& LGBTQ+ man we are too powerful to still be attacking issues separate.

WWE is bringing one of its signature events to the United Kingdom with Money in the Bank taking place this weekend.
For the first time in more than 30 years, London will host a major WWE pay-per-view. The action will kick off live on Peacock starting at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday.
Both of this year’s Money in the Bank ladder matches have relatively wide-open fields. While there are definitely some favorites to win, you could make a strong argument for any of the participants.
The men’s ladder match features seven wrestlers who have never been a world champion on the WWE main roster before.
