Being a hitter in Major League Baseball is a very difficult thing to be these days—there are just so many pitchers throwing really nasty stuff and sometimes at some very high speeds, too.
Imagine standing in the batter’s box, though, and looking out at the pitcher only to see him grinning like he knows exactly what’s about to happen. That just wouldn’t seem fair or fun.

How have recent perfect-game pitchers fared in their encore?
For the first time since the death of former NFL quarterback Ryan Mallett on Tuesday, his girlfriend, Madison Carter, made a public statement about his tragic drowning in a lengthy Facebook post Sunday night.
Carter was with Mallett when he drowned in the Gulf of Mexico off the shore of Destin, Fla.
“I trust that God has a plan for everything, but I don’t think I will ever understand why this happened. I’m so sorry I couldn’t save you, and I hope you know how hard I tried,” Carter wrote.
After Dillon Brooks was dragged thru the mud for weeks and having to see the thousands of memes about his next stop being China, he and his agent got the last laugh. After Brooks inked a massive new contract with the Houston Rockets, Brooks’ agent fired off a tweet in Chinese.
Brooks made major headlines during the NBA playoffs when he called LeBron James old during the opening-round matchup between his then-Memphis Grizzlies and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Yes Verstappen won another grand prix, but he was not the only winner at Red Bull Ring
Another Formula 1 grand prix.
Another week with Max Verstappen climbing to the top step of the podium following the Austrian Grand Prix.
While Verstappen’s streak of laps led was broken, albeit briefly, by Charles Leclerc, the Red Bull driver would not be denied his fifth-straight win. Verstappen now sits 81 points clear of teammate Sergio Pérez atop the Drivers’ Championship, and his third-straight title seems but a forgone conclusion.
The Women’s World Cup is nearing, and the Americans are trying to achieve an unprecedented treble with a roster and staff that has been drastically made over.
