Lakers fans are going to have a field day with this one.
A good NBA referee spends his career in anonymity. That was the case for veteran official Eric Lewis entering his 19th season this year. Lewis has officiated more than 1,000 NBA games in his career, and was in the crew for NBA Finals matchups between the Raptors-Warriors in 2019, Lakers-Heat in 2020, and Bucks-Suns in 2021. His resume is about as good as any referee in the league.
Lewis’ career took a strange turn when he was in the spotlight for missing one of the most talked-about blown calls of the regular season.

McKenzie Milton is headed to Knoxville where he’ll join the University of Tennessee Volunteers staff as an offensive analyst.
It makes a lot of sense. The move will reunite Milton with Vols head coach Josh Heupelm who he played under at the University of Central Florida.
“I’m just excited to get back into football. I missed it a bunch,” Milton told ESPN. “Tennessee is a special, special place, and I got to see that in March when I came up here to check out spring practice and Pro Day.
“What makes a place truly special is the people.

The reason for the Patriots losing two days of voluntary organized team activities by the NFL has come to light, and it involves ex-Giants head coach Joe Judge.
After receiving the penalty from the league on Wednesday, additional details revealed that New England violated various offseason rules. Primarily, the infractions were centered around some internal scheduling errors and a few special teams meetings led by Judge, according to the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan.

Even when a topic seems like a layup, the folks over at ESPN choose to throw the wildest scenario into the wind rather than a reasonable answer.
Welcome to sports commentary in 2023.
From JJ Redick’s insane rants, Kendrick Perkins‘ biased commentary and Richard Jefferson’s Hail Mary predictions, it remains a mystery why people tune in to the Worldwide Leader in Lunacy.

With the Raiders’ quarterback situation in a state of transition for the first time in nearly a decade after the franchise traded veteran Derek Carr, the trade rumor mill has swirled around star receiver Davante Adams. On Thursday, though, Adams addressed the media and put to bed any notions that he’s eyeing to leave Las Vegas.
Adams told reporters that he’s happy to be with the team, and highlighted his relationships in particular with head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler.
“At the end of the day, I’m a Raider, and I’m excited to be here.

This might be an issue for Bryce Young.
Bryce Young is a small man. That statement would be true even if Bryce Young was an accountant or engineer or lawyer, but it’s especially true in his chosen line of work, which is NFL quarterback. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft is listed at 5’10, 204 pounds on the Carolina Panthers’ official roster, and that is putting it generously. If Young succeeds, he will be the smallest QB in the modern era to do so.
The Panthers are getting their first look at the top pick in OTA practices this week.

NFL owners approved a new rule on kickoffs that has a lot of people talking, and we can now add Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh to that list.
The new rule dictates that receiving team that calls for a fair catch inside the 25-yard line, will start their drive on the 25-yard line. This is just like college football, but many argue that it’s the latest step toward eliminating kickoffs from football.
Andy Reid said it. Pat McAfee said it.

Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis is calling out his former team, the Boston Celtics, for their sloppy focus throughout the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat.
Davis is perhaps best known for his integral play in the heated Celtics-Lakers rival in the late aughts. In his rookie season in ’08, Davis became a reliable big man for Boston and helped them win the Finals that year against LA.
