Virginia Tech wide receiver Cole Beck believes that he is the fastest football player in the world. He might be right.
Cole Beck, a redshirt senior with the Hokies, is a two-sport athlete. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound speedster committed to stay home and play in Blacksburg as a three-star running back recruit in the class of 2018. He picked Virginia Tech over offers from App State, Boston College, Louisville, North Carolina, Clemson, Mississippi State and West Virginia among others.

The U.S. men’s national team will enter a busy summer with its third manager in the last six months with assistant B.J. Callaghan replacing Anthony Hudson.
Hudson, who was an assistant coach at the 2022 World Cup, was named interim manager following the expiration of Gregg Berhalter’s contract at the end of ’22 and the ensuing saga between the Berhalter and Reyna families.

Texas Tech golfer Ludvig Aberg made history as the first PGA Tour University golfer to earn his PGA Tour card.
The stroke play portion of the NCAA men’s golf national tournament is over, and with that, Texas Tech golfer Ludvig Aberg made history. He finished No. 1 on the 2023 PGA Tour University ranking, meaning he is the first player to earn a PGA Tour membership through this program.
He became the first golfer to take home the new top prize for finishing atop these PGA Tour U rankings.

On the morning of Feb. 1, Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady retired, in his own words, “for good.”
On May 22, Brady became a part-owner of the Raiders, a move that likely closed the door on any potential return to football due to league rules.
Yet still… rumors of Brady’s second comeback fly.
Monday Night Football color commentator and Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman was the latest to stoke them in an interview with TMZ Sports posted Tuesday morning.
“Maybe (he’d be) involved (with the Raiders) to the point where he’s actually suiting up,” Aikman said.

For three minutes and 45 seconds, the Miami Heat’s season was on the brink. Down at home to the Chicago Bulls, the Heat were floundering on offense and looking for any way to get a shot to go down.

University of Kentucky baseball is set to host an NCAA Tournament Regional this weekend. There is just one major problem.
There is nowhere for anyone to stay!
Kentucky, which went 36-18 during the 2023 season, was selected as the No. 12 overall seed in the national postseason tournament. The Wildcats deserve to host a Regional, for just the third time in school history, but the timing has created a total housing disaster.
Ball State, West Virginia and Indiana will round out the four-team Regional, which will be played in Lexington (barring weather) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

AEW’s Double or Nothing 2023 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas promised “Anarchy in the Arena,” and as is always the case with AEW stipulation matches, it delivered.

When speaking to reporters on Tuesday morning, Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson made it clear he’d love if his former teammate DeAndre Hopkins joined him in Cleveland. 
The two were teammates with the Texans and both are Clemson alums, but Watson explained that the two have been friends since the signal-caller was coming out of high school and the two have regularly spoken ever since—including now, as the wide receiver explores his options as a free agent.

Many college coaches have not held back their disdain for athletes’ newfound financial freedoms since the advent of widespread rules governing NIL rights. None, however, have done so with a turn of phrase quite like the one Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz used Tuesday morning at the SEC’s meetings in Destin, Fla.
Drinkwitz was asked about NIL and pointed out that the rules allowed some players to make more than his pediatrician brother-in-law, adding, “He saves lives.

Spoiler alert: Tom Brady probably isn’t going to play for the Raiders this season. Despite a few opportunistic betting websites hoping to capitalize on your wildest imaginations, Brady plans to purchase a very small percentage of the club, Jimmy Garoppolo remains a bit of an enigma when it comes to his ability to stay on the field and the rest of us will continue fiending for our next hit of ridiculous NFL news.
In September we’ll all look back on this and laugh. Maybe about who is actually playing quarterback for the Raiders. Maybe about how worked up we all got over nothing.
